So long as you can read, you can see it through to the end! It's like a novel... with visuals... what wizardry!
One night, a blustering storm sweeps the forest. Amidst the tempest, one great tree stands. A burst of lightning strikes from above, splitting the tree clean in half! But as luck would have it, one last acorn is given the chance... and the POTENTIAL... to become the next great tree!
This is you!

You are beautiful, powerful, and handsome! You have everything you could possibly need to reach the perfect spot, and grow big and strong. And what's this? You can speak! What an incredible gift!
Throughout your venture, you harness two core abilities: ATTACK and TALK.
You will need to utilize both to succeed, so choose wisely!

As you ATTACK, you may seem weak at first. But give it time… and your potential will truly show!
As you TALK, you may have to choose your words. Ask what speaks truest to you!
This is NOT you!

This person is strange. Be cautious of him, and other obstacles that you may meet on your journey. You're no doubt well equipped for a character as fearsome as this one.
You may find that he has his own tales to tell. Will you partake in them?
This is the game!

Wow. What a sight to behold! You live in this. But only if you buy it first!

Well, this sure is an RPG Maker VN alright. If you're familiar with how these tend to go, then yeah, give this one a go.
If you have a heart, this game will break it.

I love this like genuinely, really loved the art style and especially all the backgrounds. I like Murphy.......
pretty funny, i like all the choices you can make.
A very short and very well made game, it doesn't have much to it but it has so much love and care in it that i'd say its worth the price, please play it!!
potentially i am a man
While the experience felt like it had the "Potential" to be more than what it was, it cements itself in it's ending without remorse, and I'll respect that. Potential Man is the guise of a jovial adventure, becoming a clash between a burly seed and stagnation blocking the way to a goal, though I'm sure there's a more appropriate way to describe it. The topics covered are relatable as they are frustrating ad-nauseam, coming from a deuteragonist you certainly come to pity and more so in the end. If the rock segment wasn't enough foreshadowing, then prepare for an experience. This isn't Undertale/Deltarune, or any other game's attempt at "choices". We are "Potential Man", we have a goal. You talk until talking no longer matters, and the end result raises the question of the method & worth of pursuing this goal, and if "the rock" deserved this. I do however have some small gripes, which is going to contradict what I said earlier about the intended point of this game. The ability to point out other factors in the environment, the "Extra Menu" and meeting another woodland creature (who you just eventually scare off). It really does come off that there might have been another outcome if more topics were brought up to make Murphy move (event from a meta sense), but they become moot because we the player seem to only be at the mercy of scripted events. There's also the fact that, the quiz is a waste of time, and not to the game's merit. A couple of answers aren't really obvious, because they either aren't said or shown in the entire segment of the game unless you actually chose a different response to get that answer prior (as far as I explored). You're just expected to go to the computer prior to starting (or after the fact) if you wanted to 100% the quiz, which even if this is done it doesn't change anything. I can try to see the point of the segment, but what would have been better, was us starting to humor Murphy, but eventually seeing that there was no point to him stalling with the quiz, even if it were an option. This would give some weight as to whether or not we want to care about Murphy, despite it delaying our goal further, but again, I get that it may not have been the point. Either way, I won't complain about a $3-4 dollar experience, because despite how I felt about the ending, it said enough about how we should really approach life. Don't let your potential to do something worthwhile be put to waste, but neither let it stagnate nor blindsight you to experiences to make you better (socially, empathetically, and so forth).
After two months of wait, I'd say the game lives to its potential ( :D ) This is a short but good experience. The art style and animations are all pretty solid and charming, and the music is really good (reminds me of SNES JRPGs). Regarding the story, it's definitely the heart of the game. It personally kept me hooked while playing. If you're looking for a pretty short experience focused on story, with decent replayability, then Potential Man might, could, POTENTIALLY be it!
Art is really good, just go into it knowing it's basically a visual novel
