About
ABOUT THIS GAME
Pop Star Life is a single-player, text-based sandbox life simulation about building a music career from nothing.
Start as an unknown artist with limited money, energy, skills, and reputation. Write songs, rehearse, perform at small venues, grow your fanbase, release music, manage your lifestyle, and slowly climb from street performances to major stages.
Your career is shaped by interconnected systems: fame, fans, money, stress, health, energy, inspiration, relationships, housing, clothing, crew members, concerts, digital platforms, and public image. Every choice affects your long-term progress.
Build Your Music Career
Write and develop songs, prepare your repertoire, record tracks in studios, release singles, and grow your catalog over time. Better preparation, stronger skills, and smarter decisions lead to better results.
Perform From Small Venues To Huge Stages
Begin with street performances and local gigs, then unlock larger venues as your fame and fanbase grow. Concerts can reward you with money, fame, fans, and reputation, but they also cost energy and increase stress.
Manage Your Life, Not Just Your Music
Your artist has daily needs. Energy, health, stress, social life, relationships, housing, and lifestyle choices all matter. Ignoring life outside music can slow your progress or create new problems.
Grow Through Systems
Hire crew members, improve your wardrobe, buy better living spaces, manage income, handle opportunities, react to events, and build a sustainable career. Pop Star Life is designed around long-term progression, layered decisions, and slow-burn growth.
A Text-Based Sandbox Inspired By Deep Browser Sims
Pop Star Life focuses on interconnected systems, progression, and player-driven goals. There is no single correct path. You decide what kind of artist you want to become.

No character customization. You'll end up homeless with an acoustic guitar no matter what. You can't even pick your appearance. I was a white girl at home and then a brown girl when I was homeless. This is both lazy and offensive at the same time! Shouldn't AI art make it easier to implement variety? What's the point of using AI art at all? I'd be more likely to give this a chance if it was purely text with no visuals. At this point I assume the whole game is AI. Some of the text is in Turkish instead of English. I guess I'm dumb for trusting anything involving AI.
very cute and addictive

Good ideas, but currently more comedy than simulation I actually like the ideas behind this game. There is a surprisingly nice amount of depth for a €4 Early Access game, and I can see a genuinely enjoyable pop-star management/life sim underneath the problems. Unfortunately, the current presentation and localization make it difficult to take seriously. I originally played in English and encountered Turkish text throughout the game, including job names, resource modifiers, achievement rewards, release screens and dynamically generated messages. There were also tutorial instructions that sent me to the wrong activity: a mission told me to use Café & Open Mic for a street performance, while the actual activity that completed it was Stage & Venues → Street Corner → Go on Stage. The visual presentation is another salad. The character illustrations and other artwork use noticeably different art styles throughout the game. It's not simply that the same character occasionally looks slightly different; the style itself varies between assets, so the game lacks a consistent visual identity. The developers subsequently said the language problems would be fixed in the next update. After the August 18 update, I switched to German specifically to test whether the localization had actually improved. It has not. The German localization is, frankly, hilarious. Umlauts randomly become ?, terminology is sometimes awkward or simply wrong, and some translations change the meaning of the game. Streams are translated as „Theaterstücke“ (stage plays), accommodation becomes „Gehäuse“ (a casing/enclosure — something I'd expect a computer to live in), and „Ausfahrt“ is used where the game means Exit/Quit. There are also still Turkish strings appearing in the German interface. More seriously, at least one financial label appears to have the shares reversed: what is the player's/platform revenue split in English is labelled in German as if the artist receives the opposite percentage. That's not merely funny — it can give the player incorrect information about the game's economy. I have to admit that I laughed harder at some of these translations than at the last comedy show I attended. Unfortunately, this is supposed to be a pop-star simulator, not a German localization comedy. The underlying game has good ideas, and I would genuinely like to see it succeed. But at the moment, the localization and tutorial/UX issues make it difficult to recommend. I would suggest waiting for further updates unless you're happy to do some accidental QA testing along the way. Promising game. Currently a localization salad.
The store interface is written in both Chinese and Japanese, but in reality, it doesn't........ Although it feels interesting, English looks very difficult. I hope to update my Chinese or Japanese as soon as possible
Really fun and addictive game! Huge respect to the developer, you can see the effort and creativity. The mechanics could use more depth and improvement, but the potential is definitely there. I think $3 would be a better price than $5 in its current state. Keep it up, dev! 👍
This game has a lot of potential to be great and I've been looking for a game like this for awhile. As it's early access, the game experience is a little lacking in the terms of guidance. There is a very brief tutorial of each menu and I mean its super brief. However, through trial and error you and persistent gameplay you gain some level of understanding what is important and what isn't to some degree. Hopefully tooltips for various parts of the game will be implemented such as how the skills affect various aspects of the song creation process, performance and any other areas. There are some bugs as mentioned in previous reviews but nothing game breaking imo that I have experienced. However, this game does feel a bit grindy even with the current bug that gives us the same reward twice due it not properly clearing. Overall, I'm still happy with my playing experience and look forward to future updates.
Игра прикольная, не забрасывайте
I love this kind of game and for what i see there is depth and good balance.
I like the game. I've been searching for a long time for a text-based game that can be played actively (not an idler). There is a lot of activities here and seems like it can be a long game so you can accumulate billions of fame. There are some non-gamebreaking bugs, for example some quests appear twice. Also it is not explained what do character skills do, we should guess. Sometimes there is some text in Turkish or even only icons without text. Also the window mode lacks the button to minimize. Anyway I enjoy it.
