About
Pixel Starships 2 is a starship building and battle game in an MMO universe. Featuring full ship customization, online fleets, exploration, programmable AI, detailed planning, micro-management, and complex battle tactics. The strategy mechanics are inspired by games such as FTL, Eve online, and Final Fantasy, and XCom.

Layout your crew, program advanced battle AI, and unleash devastating combos as you face off against players from around the world in intense tactical showdowns.
In addition to a new graphics engine, PSS2 introduces a number of new gameplay mechanics. Oxygen and door access is now available. Ensure your mission critical rooms are well connected. New weapons facilities such as the bomb launcher introduce a new layer of depth. Room placement is even more important with bonuses for optimal placement.
The programmable AI system is back with improvements. New filtering conditions allow fine-grain control for AFK setup. At the same time new AI chip unlocking, Presets, Layouts, and Templates allow quick strategic changes.
The economy in the game is entirely market driven. You can loot, mine, craft, and re-sell items and equipment. Take advantage of resources in specific regions to create rare items. Control lucrative planets and trade routes for maximum economic advantage.
Discover new races and crew each with new unique abilities. Crew members now have 6 core stats, plus 4 resistance and skill stats which can be trained and leveled up to take on various specializations. Send your crew on new away missions to take down monsters on different planets.
eSports tournaments are a big part of Pixel Starships. New league and tournament modes are coming soon. The tournament system is now split into amateur and professional leagues to suit differing level of play.
We will continue to post development updates on the steam page and forums. Please add the game to your wishlist to receive upcoming updates.

Pixel Starships 2 is a space management and strategy game developed and published by SavySoda, building upon the ideas of the original Pixel Starships with a larger and more technically ambitious online universe. Its approach combines starship construction, crew management, tactical combat, exploration, resource gathering, crafting, trading, automation, and multiplayer competition. Instead of focusing purely on space battles, the game places players in charge of nearly every important aspect of operating and developing a spacecraft, creating an experience aimed primarily at players who enjoy planning and optimization. Ship construction is one of the strongest parts of the experience. Players are responsible for deciding where rooms, weapons, utilities, and other essential systems should be installed. Placement is more meaningful than simply filling empty spaces because factors such as room connections, doors, oxygen, accessibility, and positioning bonuses can affect the effectiveness of the vessel. Offensive equipment such as bomb launchers further expands the possibilities, encouraging players to design ships that balance firepower, survivability, efficiency, and crew movement. Combat adds another layer of strategy to these construction decisions. Pixel Starships 2 includes PvE and PvP encounters, with both real-time and asynchronous elements contributing to its multiplayer structure. Players must consider crew positioning, weapon operation, power management, defensive systems, and the vulnerabilities of enemy ships. Support craft can also contribute to battles. A poorly organized vessel may struggle even when equipped with respectable technology, while an intelligently designed ship can take better advantage of its available equipment and personnel. Automation is among the game's most interesting features. Players can program artificial intelligence instructions that determine how crew members and ship systems behave when specific conditions occur. Expanded filters, presets, templates, layouts, and AI chips allow increasingly sophisticated behaviors to be created. This system rewards experimentation because an efficient automated setup can dramatically improve the way a ship responds during complicated situations. At the same time, the mechanic contributes to a fairly steep learning curve for anyone unfamiliar with this style of management game. Crew members provide another major source of customization. Characters have different statistics and abilities that make them more appropriate for particular jobs. Training and specialization allow players to shape personnel around specific combat or operational roles. Crew members are not restricted entirely to life aboard the ship either, as away missions allow teams to explore planets and encounter hostile creatures. Choosing the right personnel therefore becomes an important long-term decision rather than a simple matter of collecting as many characters as possible. The economic side of Pixel Starships 2 broadens the experience beyond warfare. Resources can be acquired through exploration, mining, and looting before being transformed through crafting or exchanged with other players. Differences between regions are intended to make transportation and trade worthwhile, while control over useful planets and routes can have strategic value. These mechanics help create a cycle in which exploration provides materials, materials support production, production generates useful equipment or trade opportunities, and economic success contributes to further ship development. The game also emphasizes its shared online universe. Players can cooperate through alliances, interact economically, compete against rival captains, and participate in a broader community-driven environment. Competitive tournaments and league concepts are intended to provide additional goals for dedicated players. This MMO structure gives ship development a greater purpose because improvements can eventually be tested against other human-controlled fleets rather than existing solely for campaign progression. Pixel Starships 2 adopts a more advanced visual presentation than its predecessor, including a new graphics engine and greater use of 3D environments while retaining a recognizable stylized identity. The presentation supports the management gameplay effectively by making ships, rooms, characters, and their activities easier to observe. It is still fundamentally a systems-focused strategy game rather than a cinematic space adventure, so its appeal comes more from watching complicated mechanics interact than from spectacular action sequences. The most significant issue is its Early Access condition. The developers have made it clear that the game is still evolving, with additional ships, weapons, missions, storyline material, balancing work, interface improvements, optimization, community features, and other content forming part of the broader development process. Bugs, crashes, performance inconsistencies, unfinished mechanics, and balance changes are therefore possible. Players who prefer games only after their mechanics and content have been finalized should keep this developmental state in mind. Its free-to-play model makes Pixel Starships 2 relatively easy to sample before committing substantial time to it, although in-game purchases are part of the overall structure. The combination of single-player activities, online PvP, cross-platform multiplayer, achievements, and persistent progression gives players several ways to approach the experience. The sheer number of interconnected mechanics is simultaneously one of its biggest strengths and potential weaknesses. Dedicated strategy enthusiasts can spend considerable time optimizing their ships, while casual players may find the amount of information and management overwhelming. Overall, Pixel Starships 2 offers an impressively broad foundation for a starship management MMO. Building vessels, programming automated behaviors, developing specialized crew members, exploring planets, collecting resources, crafting equipment, trading, joining alliances, and fighting other ships create a substantial strategic framework. Its current shortcomings largely come from being an unfinished project whose ambition sometimes exceeds its present level of refinement. For players comfortable with Early Access and interested in deep management systems, there is already plenty of potential to explore. Those seeking a completely polished and content-rich experience may want to wait for development to progress further. SavySoda has created a promising sequel with considerable strategic depth, but its ultimate quality will depend on how successfully its numerous developing systems are completed and balanced.
