This is hovering towards a neutral review but the game felt like a damn slog for at least half of the playthrough. I'm not quite sure how long it actually took me to 100% the game as I left it running in the background a couple of times but my main gripe is the excessive cost of the abilities in the skill tree, the random nature of some of the skills and the lack of power for the actual skill purchases. As some of the other reviews have mentioned, you can barely feel the power progression for each upgrade, it's only after maybe close to a dozen upgrades where you might actually notice anything. I would say it definitely has pacing and skill tree balancing issues. It can be a great game if it was balanced more towards a 2 or 3 hour run. So for me, this game overstays it's welcome. That's not to say I don't like longer incrementals as Shelldiver is still my "gold standard" when making internal comparisons. and that took me about 9 or 10 hours to 100%. I'm also concerned that this review will color a potential buyer's experience, but I feel like it's something that needs to be mentioned if you're more like me and are sensitive to the concept of a game "overstaying it's welcome". This game is just a few tweaks away from being fantastic though.

Highly addictive Incremental game where things go boom. One of the many cool features is that when you go to the Incremental Skill Tree it doesn't reset your run like many Incremental games do. At any time you can reset the game and start over, which I've done only once. In Piñata Go Boom, piñatas drop various toys and loot when smashed. These items are the primary currency of the game: you collect them during your shift and trade them at the end of the day for coins or to fulfill objectives for aqua tokens. I can confirm that this game supports the Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller. It's what I use, although you can use the Keyboard and Mouse if you wish. I've added it to my list of games to Gift To Steam Friends, so if you're a Steam Friend of mine and want it simply add it to your Wishlist. I'll get to you eventually. I only Gift games that I too own and that I enjoy.* *A recent recipient of a Gifted game made my day by telling me how much the Gift meant to him.
A friend gifted me a copy of this game out of the blue, I hadn't even heard of it beforehand. It's a very enjoyable little gameplay loop. You have a job you do for X seconds per "day", so every day you head into a level comprising of 10 rooms. You go in, hit some piñatas, collect the toys that get automatically converted into money. Then between days, you buy upgrades in the skill tree. So you can do a little better next time. Every time you beat a 10th room in a single day, you unlock a new level - so you can earn more and unlock new skills. Rinse & repeat. There's not much to it, it's a very simple game, and you'll 100% complete it in around 6 hours, but for me, it's been a fun game to play a little of every day for about a week.
I have learnt all I need is empathy and strength.
Something new in the incremental genre! Was fun :). Didn't overstay its' welcome. 10/10
fun , fast game.
Very Nice
hehehe, they go boom now, i like that
You changed the definition of a second! I buy many upgrades puching the secund, yut you now just change seconds to half seconds, that is cheating.
Very fun little game, definitely worth the price, the upgrades feel like they matter and allow you to progress through the game smoothly
