Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is my kind of game but this UI is just awful. You have to click on a unit to and try to move to see if they have actions left. No clue if you can even hit a key that would go to the next unit. I'm so tired of always having to hit the check box after each attack. This seems like a cheap $5-10 game. Not $40
Buyer beware, this game isn't for everyone. I'm an old school wargamer (paper maps and counters on a basement tabletop) from when this was considered a nerdish hobby for warmongers. For this group this game gets a thumbs up. I've actually played three of the 30 Years War battles here as tabletop games from the SPI 30 Years War Quad: Lutzen, Breitenfeld and Rocroi. Warfare in the age of pike and shot is very attritional, which is to say tedious. There's lots of just standing there and shooting back and forth. The map space for most of the battles here doesn't allow any real maneuver. The basic strategy for each battle is predetermined, the tactics of how to fight it is sorta up to you. Sorta because the game is Roshambo at its core. Some units are the antidote to others and it's up to you to figure out what works against what. But there seems to be a large luck factor added into the combats (I'd guess a D100 is rolled) because the exact same matchups will yield widely varying results at times. I played each 30 Years War historical scenario until I won it (which was never the first go). I tried my hand at several campaigns but kept losing. The enemy moving second and grabbing your empty provinces is very annoying and I haven't figured out how to stop it. And all this is on two star difficulty level (out of five). Still, at 90+ hours in I more than got my money's worth. I can't see younger players or those with no interest in the history liking this though. You do get plenty of scenarios and campaigns to keep you busy, probably for longer than you actually want to play this.

The mechanics are easy to learn and allow for a variety of tactical decisions, but the scenario design drags the game into muck. Every mission simply burdens the player with a disadvantage—usually your pike and shot are weaker than the enemy pike and shot—and every hour of gameplay turns into a slog. I spent entirely too much time pressing forward, hoping that the next scenario would be as good as the mechanics, and completely wasted my time.
Fun game, good community of active online players
Wokeness in modern games made me come back to appreciate games like this more. I bought all 4 games but not getting deep into them yet, currently my favs go in this order: 1. Pike and Shot - Best performance, guns 2. Sengoku Jidai - Good performance, interesting period 3. FoG2: Medieval - Good performance, best GUI 4. FoG2 - mid performance, don't notice anything different from medieval
Amazing gem, deserving a new take on the GUI and a commandement layer to an outstanding game. A involved and dynamic community of fans.
A really intriguing look into the mechanics and challenges of battle in the early modern period. Despite a fairly narrow focus on the battles themselves the slimmed-down campaign mechanics still help give some welcome framework and context to the action on the field.
I usually play RTSs so I was a bit hesitant to play a turn based strategy game. But since the Early modern period is so neglected in gaming, I thought I would give it a go. Glad I did, it's got much more depth then most RTSs and its nice playing against an AI which can actually play the game since it has a lot less decisions to make with turns...
