Pickers is an incredibly entertaining HOG, focusing heavily on traveling to different locations to hunt for valuable goods, interacting with various characters who have different tolerance for haggling (some of which may even be very dishonest about their pricing), and selling items that are highly in demand. You only have limited inventory in this game so it's important to focus on purchasing items that you can sell at a much higher profit margin, like an item that can be bought dirt cheap but sold at a much higher price when restored. There are also "more profitable" items that you can get by combining two parts of said item. The game even gives you 3 chances per turn to consult with experts who will evaluate the value of an item for you just so you can price the items accordingly. Once a price tag is added to all the items you want to sell, you can then open your shop and hope people buy your stuff. They can haggle with you but it's up to you to sell or not. If you don't sell all the items, the game has an Auction option where you can hope your item would be sold at a price where you can recoup your cost. If you're lucky, you may even hit the jackpot price which is the highest possible price you can sell that item for. The game's not too difficult and it's easy enough to find most of the stuff you can buy and then re-sell for, hopefully, more cash, but there are some requirements in certain levels that can be tricky to fulfill especially if you're like me and are determined to maximize your profits by only finding items in the highest-in-demand category. So, all in all, I'd say Pickers provides a very unique and addictive (for someone who absolutely loves shop management/ tycoon games) twist to the hidden object genre. It may not be the first selling-themed HOG of its kind but it's definitely the best one out there! Plus the game's super cheap during a sale too. I only wish that there are more HOGs like Pickers that I can play. This is probably 8 years too late but is there any chance a sequel will be made? I would even settle for a "Storage Wars"-themed, Pickers-styled sequel... pretty please? :D
Watch me play!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPUSY9cKZ2c // Full gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLu-THx6SwAB5mJFXEnmKI1c8Cs9rFE60S
Side Note

If you like this review and would like to follow me for more, please feel free to drop by my curator page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/33780629-The-Midcore-Gamer/
Very good hidden object game. Nice graphic and sounds. You can earn achievements.
This is a fun little game, and a very unique HOG (hidden object game). I'm enjoying it so far, though I haven't played it long. I'm not sure I'm going to be a very successful shop owner, but I look forward to the challenge. I definitely recommend this game when it's on sale.
Pickers is a very fun point & click, casual game. You have 30 days to make as much money as possible, travelling to various locations to pick and choose what you want to sell in your store or at auction. If you follow what is the 'hot category' for the day you will be fine, even on the highest difficulty. It is a simple game, but a fun one. Bit of a hidden gem...see that is funny, because that's what you have to find in the game
An interesting take on the HOG genre, but I found it too difficult to proceed in the ranks. The item finding was fun, and auctioning and price-setting was also fun, but I never made any money. That probably means I am bad at the game, but that is something the game should help with. I guess I would recommend this game is you like HOGs, with a bit of frustration.
I find this game lackluster. Pretty much a click fest with some basic economy attached to it. Very easy to trick the sellers to make them like you and the vast amount of junk items makes this game very sluggish. The inventory management should have been much much better and more user friendly.
I’d go with a mixed review if I could. It’s not terrible, but there are glitches. You can’t switch game modes without starting a new profile and the Steam overlay doesn’t work properly when running this game. I’ll go with a thumbs down for the glitches. This game is a mix of trying to make money while running a pawn shop and finding hidden objects. This might be the only game which has this combination since most hidden object games tend to be point and click adventures. It actually works better than I thought it would since searching through junk to find something worthwhile to sell is kind of like playing a hidden object game in real life. One interesting feature is finding pairs. For example, if you can find a salt shaker to match a similar pepper shaker, then you can combine them into a set. Combined objects can be sold for more than selling both items separately. Not every object can be combined into a set, but there are dozens of pairs available. I don’t think this game is worth full price, but it might be worth getting on sale. Of course, if you are in the target demographic, then you’d be looking for a sale in the first place.
Great game. I really enjoy hidden object games and this game had a fun way of integrating hidden object puzzles into the gameplay. I highly recommend this game.
got boring in the end
