Persona 3 reload is like aight. For context I have not played the original, p or FES. I feel like playing this game is like walking through mud. I think most of the main cast is likable enough (except mitsuru) to where the monotonous dialogue is fine which is something I felt p5r wasnt great in. That being said the non party cast is underwhelming. For a story this good, the backup cast is a little disappointing. Obviously there are a few outstanding characters like Akinari, Takaya and Tanaka, I still felt a little bored of the social links and felt they had less charm to those in 4 and 5. I also felt the game and specifically the bosses were too easy and lackluster. For a game that has one of the most repetitive dungeon crawling gameplay, you would hope that the bosses provide a good challenge and have some engaging fun mechanics but I was very disappointed by how shallow they were. I felt this the most with the final boss that was just like bru really.... this is where my 90 hours went??? Regarding the balancing, I think this game better than 5R but still feels a little iffy, once you max social stats and finishg the 2 nightime social links, the only thing you usually do at night is go to the arcade at night to raise persona stats. This leads to some funny albeit unbalanced moments where you are about halfway through the game and you have a persona with 99 strength that just eradicates everything with the a mid tier skill. This also promotes you to just hold onto the same persona for a third of the game which is counterintuitive for a game that specifically wants you to fuse as much as possible. There are also obviously party members who are just better than others I felt like I was using pretty much the same party the whole game (especially yukari) (also korumaru getting debilitate? kinda nasty) Furthermore theurgies are just stupid, I feel like they just make any gatekeeper boss trivial if you just stack all of them for the fight, I really wish they toned them down at the start but had you unlocking new ones that scale in strength, not just heres a nuclear bomb in the early game, have fun. (side note why the ♥♥♥♥ is Futsunushi just like able to exist, like ♥♥♥♥ you mean i just win the game at lv 74) This leads me to the one thing I really just dont like about this game, the pacing. The fact that to be optimal you want to explore half a block of tartarus in ONE day kills me, especially when its essentially all the same. I didnt mind the repetitive dungeon crawling in p4 because at least then they were each unique and had more plot significance than each of the blocks. Then after you spend an obscene amount of time in tartarus you go into 20~ days of social links with barely any story interjections or progression. I felt like the whole game i was waiting for nothing to happen again "insert metaphor about walking through mud". #Not a fan. Another thing I wasnt a big fan of was the graphics. It doesnt posses the absurd level of stylization as P5R nor the charmingly goofy graphics of P4G. This is just my personal opinion but the upgraded graphics kill the charm of the original, kinda in the same sense as "this will be mario in 2030" where sure OBJECTIVELY the graphics look better but there is something you lose when going for that look. So maybe ill play the og to see if my thoughts are true. I was gonna say that I wouldnt recommend this game but its actually just SAVED BY THE GOD TIER SOUNDTRACK like bru why are alllllllll the songs just bangers, especially the intro which i would say is the best but "shadow world" from p4g lowk clears. Anyways Im not sure how I feel about this game, on one hand The soundtrack+ story are kinda objectively goated but on the other It just feels like a slightly worse game than P5R and P4G. I would say that overall I personaly enjoyed this game, but would I recomend it to others over P5R and P4G probably not. Especially when this game is 80$ full price.

Persona 3 Reload is one of the best games I have ever played. At first, I thought it would be just another game about high school students, but I was completely wrong. The story is much deeper than that. It explores many sensitive and philosophical topics, including death, the meaning of life, love, friendship, grief, sacrifice, and accepting the inevitable. The game constantly makes you think about these themes, and by the end it becomes an unforgettable emotional experience. Another thing I absolutely love is the presentation. Persona 3 Reload features beautiful, fully remade cutscenes and animated sequences that make many important moments much more emotional than they were in the original game. The soundtrack is also outstanding. Many scenes are accompanied by emotional music that perfectly matches the atmosphere and makes dramatic moments even more impactful. The characters are another reason why this game is so special. Every member of SEES has a unique personality and develops throughout the story. You gradually learn more about each of them, and by the end they genuinely feel like close friends. One of the best gameplay mechanics is the Social Link system. You spend time with different characters, learn about their lives, and strengthen your bond with them. These stories are a perfect addition to the main plot because they focus on ordinary people with realistic problems. Some stories are heartwarming, while others are incredibly sad. One of my favorite Social Links is Akinari Kamiki, the young man you meet at Naganaki Shrine. He tells one of the saddest stories in the entire game. He suffers from a terminal illness and knows that he does not have much time left. Throughout his Social Link, he talks about the meaning of life, writing a story that he hopes people will remember, and coming to terms with his fate. Every meeting with him is accompanied by beautiful, melancholic music that creates a quiet and emotional atmosphere. It is one of the few storylines in a game that genuinely made me emotional. Another memorable Social Link is President Tanaka. Before meeting him, you can actually see him every Saturday on the TV shopping program. At first he seems like a greedy, manipulative businessman who only cares about money. However, as his Social Link progresses, you begin to understand that there is much more to his character than first impressions suggest. It is one of the most unique and entertaining Social Links in the game. I also really liked the elderly couple who run the bookstore. Their story is heartbreaking. They lost their only son, who used to work as a teacher at Gekkoukan High School. Because of their grief, they became deeply attached to the persimmon tree that reminds them of him. When they learn that the tree may be cut down, they are forced to face their painful memories once again. It is another touching story about loss and moving forward. Not every party member has a Social Link. Instead, Atlus introduced Linked Episodes for characters such as Junpei, Akihiko, Ken, Koromaru, and Shinjiro. These events appear naturally throughout the story, and if you miss one, you cannot continue that character's episode later. I think this system fits the game's pacing very well and helps develop these characters outside the main story. Another enjoyable addition is the various activities you can do with your teammates. You can study together before exams, read books, work in the garden, watch television, cook, or simply spend time together in the dorm. These activities improve your Social Stats while also making the team feel much closer and more believable. The combat system is also fantastic. You fight mysterious Shadows inside Tartarus, a gigantic tower with more than 250 floors. As you climb higher, the enemies become stronger and new challenges appear. At first I was not a huge fan of the combat, but as I unlocked stronger Personas and learned more mechanics, I started enjoying it much more. The Persona system itself is one of the most interesting mechanics in the game. Unlike other party members, the protagonist can use multiple Personas instead of just one. You can fuse new Personas in the Velvet Room to create even stronger ones, experiment with different skills, and build powerful combinations. Elizabeth, the Velvet Room attendant, also gives you many special requests. Some of them require defeating powerful enemies or finding rare items, while others are surprisingly funny. For example, she often asks the protagonist to take her around the city because she wants to experience the outside world. These requests are charming, humorous, and help make Elizabeth one of the most memorable characters in the game. Another useful feature is the Persona Compendium. It allows you to register every Persona you obtain and summon it again later for a fee. This makes experimenting with different builds much easier because you never have to worry about permanently losing a Persona that you fused earlier. Finally, I really liked the ending. It is both beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. It perfectly concludes the game's themes and leaves a strong emotional impact. I have only just started playing Episode Aigis, so I cannot say much about it yet, but I am looking forward to seeing how the story continues. Overall, Persona 3 Reload is an incredible JRPG with an emotional story, unforgettable characters, amazing music, beautiful remade cutscenes, satisfying gameplay, and one of the best casts I have ever seen in a video game. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys story-driven games, even if they have never played a Persona game before.

i like the tartar sauce thingy
Persona 3 is the perfect example of a typical Japanese role-playing game: great ideas executed with many flaws. The game can easily be divided into three pillars: the story, the day-to-day life, and the gameplay inside Tartarus. The story is extremely diluted and skims over some of its most interesting points too quickly, which often leaves you confused. This is especially apparent in the final confrontation with Jin or with the lack of explanation regarding the "peculiar" shape of the Evokers. The story could have “ended” at least 2 in-game months earlier; however, I understand that these final months were meant to serve as a farewell, so I can almost forgive them. The day-to-day is interesting, but unfortunately, it is a significant downgrade from Persona 5. Didn't buy a specific soda bottle during the Kyoto trip? Tough luck! no superboss for you. Didn't hyper-optimize your Social Link progression? You poor soul… Be prepared to spend half the game's evenings staring at a wall because you have nothing better to do. Didn't buy the DLC? You'd better bring out the wallet; otherwise, no platinum for you! Last but not least is the combat. I am in love with this battle system; it is the main thing that kept me going. The build variety (although heavily skewed toward physical) and the party dynamics were engaging enough to make the encounters intense and fun, and the music was incredible. That being said, 200+ floors of Tartarus was a tad too many, don't you think? Overall, solid album but the game that comes attached with it could be better…
