Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.29/day in the week to Aug 10 → 5.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
From Obsidian, this game is a historical narrative-driven game focusing on character development, heavily stylized art, and choice-driven storytelling in early 16th century Bavaria. Players will play as Andreas Maler, a clever illustrator caught up in a series of murders in Tassing and Kiersau Abbey over the course of twenty five years. Players will be responsible for conducting their own investigation to decide the fate of the community, but each decision will have lasting consequences and inexorably draws Andreas closer to the center of an underlying conspiracy.
Experience 16th century Europe as the master artists of the time saw them. Art inspired by great illuminated manuscripts and the earliest printed books becomes a living, breathing world in Pentiment.
Choose different academic and social backgrounds and meet a colorful cast of characters as you discover the stories and secrets that lie within the small Bavarian town of Tassing and nearby Keirsau Abbey.
In an era of great religious and political change, each decision you make can have a profound impact on the community’s future. Find your own way through this turbulent time and see the consequences of your choices play out over generations.

Very interesting story so far. If you love mysteries and history, this is a game I would recommend for sure. The story might be straight-forward but it feels like playing a very interesting book.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Très bonne histoire
I took my time playing this game, but in Act II, it was amazing: The story, the options, everything. I super recommend it if you like to solve mysteries and are a history buff:

Great game!
This is a game that heavily relies on being an interesting story, and luckily it manages to create an atmospheric and intriguing mystery. Quite fun to have a look around, with a sort of time-limit that means you don't try and turn it into an open world/talk to everyone sort of game, and some real replayability because of this!
在塔兴,仍有太多的故事有待讲述
I found playing this game to be a really memorable experience, and I'd strongly recommend it to players who enjoy role-playing-type adventure games with an unhurried pace. In terms of game mechanics, the closest match I can think of is Night in the Woods. You roam around town, talk to everybody who interests you, and decide how to pass finite time as you work your way toward resolving an overarching mystery whose resolution matters for your character's friends and the setting at large. That said, Pentiment felt very unique to me, because of its setting, story, and aesthetic. I'm happy enough to play games whose setting is "medieval Europe" in the usual generic sense that there are swords and castles and stuff. Pentiment is a game meticulously situated in 1500s Bavaria. The Protestant reformation is ongoing and politically contentious. A handful of monks are still working as scribes in monasteries, but the printing press has been around a while, and your character is an artist who interacts with people in both those worlds - literally walking between the "old" and the "new" as you walk between the secular world of that time (the farms and town where peasants and tradespeople live) and the religious world (the monastery up the hill) - against a backdrop of even older roman ruins and pagan myths. I don't generally go in for historical fiction, but this game's use of history makes the setting and the day-to-day experiences of its characters that much more interesting and immersive. I've never played anything quite like it in that respect. This focus on history is also an important part of the story. Without spoiling too much, your character's decisions matter - to an extent - but not always to the extent or in the way that you might anticipate, and the acts are separated by jumps in time that show how individual decisions can interact with bigger historical forces that magnify, overwhelm, or invert them. The art is excellent start-to-finish and reflects what you can see in the previews. It was fun sometimes to just pull up the menu and look at the insane animals/monsters in the margins (which change constantly depending on variables unclear to me). All in all I thought this game was a unique experience and extremely well executed.
This game was so full of love, craft and knowledge that it's hard to properly explain all the ways in which it succeeded. There's an incredible amount of layers to it, starting with gorgeous art direction and a very satisfying mystery, supported by an immersive and believable representation of 16th century Europe, which in turn was made possible by a depth of understanding of art, history, mythology and religion that makes you want to learn more about everything. All the characters in the abbey and the village are interesting and you come to feel that you know them and have a real investment in their community. And the story presents you with some really hard decisions, a lot of heartbreak yet also some comfort, and a lot of complexity and questions about how much control we really have over our lives in the grand schemes of history. Truly a singularly unique, terrifically beautiful game that I don't think I'll ever forget.
