About
Establish the greatest regime in history in this darkly satirical colony sim and FPS roguelite hybrid. Build a prosperous totalitarian state, enforce policies, and lead your troops into first-person battles that grow from desperate skirmishes into large-scale mechanized war.
Dictate wisely. Every choice shapes society, for better or worse.
Mold your citizens through fear, propaganda, surveillance, punishment or rule as a benevolent leader through comfort and prosperity.
While they work for the State, they may grow grateful, afraid, loyal, or quietly rebellious, until dissent becomes revolt.
Venture into the fractured territories of the Tyris System to gather resources, conscript new citizens, trade with wandering merchants, and feed the growth of your colony.
Fight beside your troops in roguelite FPS battles, from hostile ships to large-scale mechanized battlefields of infantry, tanks, and mechs, spreading your doctrine and eliminating threats to humanity.
Weakened foes can be captured and dragged back to your base.
Behind prison doors, resistance can be crushed through fear, indoctrination, execution, or conversion, until an enemy becomes a citizen, a warning to would-be rebels, or another tool of the regime.
Elite enemies, bosses, and Sector Overlords flood the battlefield with bullets, lasers, missiles, drones, artillery, and overlapping projectile patterns.
This is war at scale, but you are not alone. Order your troops to secure victory, or use them as expendable shields to achieve your ends.

Turn a handful of survivors into a vast, tightly run, self-sustaining colony.
Assign citizens to mine, gather, haul, research, and manufacture weapons, armor, food, and supplies. Watch fragile shelters become the machinery of the State.
Collect roguelite cores during each expedition to grow stronger, survive longer, and push deeper into enemy territory.
Weapon Cores reshape how your guns handle. Combination Cores create synergies between different core sets. Others strengthen the troops fighting beside you, or turn them into sacrificial shields for your survival.
Each run becomes a shifting war machine built around you, your squad, and the chaos you unleash together.

Pax Autocratica is a totalitarian colony sim and FPS roguelite hybrid that combines base building, citizen management, and first-person chaotic battlefields filled with infantry, vehicles and bullet hell. It offers a dynamic, accessible, and approachable gameplay experience for all in a sci-fi dystopian world.
It’s a game about power. How it’s built, how it corrupts, and how it consumes.
You will command armies, dictate laws, and witness consequences in every face that salutes you or fears you.

Reviews
Needs some more fleshing out buty overall fun. The battles are too short on Standard difficulty especially tier 1

Seems pretty good so far for an EA title. I haven't encountered any game breaking bugs with nearly 30 hours of play or really any bugs at all. Building - It's nothing to write home about. Certain buildings can be placed multiple times which don't really need multiples. Ever. While others which you can only place one of, would benefit from having multiples. But this is whatever. Nothing about it breaks the game. My only real gripe is that it would be nice to have more housing variations and larger caps on population so we could design sprawling cities. Combat - It's satisfying. I really enjoy the battles and the bosses so far are pretty crazy. I just got to the final boss of the EA content and got wiped out. It's nuts. Rogue-Like - Like anything is RNG dependent. The most broke things in the game right now: Missile Core: If you can get the red core which allows you a single missile being fired and you have a high fire rate weapon and invest in area size, damage, and distance activation, then you basically win every encounter regardless of difficultly because the damage output is insane. It's basically a 1 for 1 with 1 bullet hit = 1 missile. Or at least that's how it seems when you get it. So the SMG with a 50 round mag and a super fast attack speed...just spray the crowds of guys. Black Hole: This ability is a must for most of the content and makes game busting core combinations and even just having the cooldown reduction on means almost absolute battlefield control by itself and when combined with size increases...15 meters is basically half an enemy drop. Toxin: This isn't anything spectacular by itself. You can have huge areas filled with constant damage which is nice as it can also combine debuffs like movement speed reduction, damage reduction, and retaliation when hit. But it shines with Black Hole. When you get the combination Toxin now acts as a black hole whenever it's triggered and starts piling enemies up for easy kills. If you can get this combination then the more difficult, higher bad-guy volume fights are actually incredibly irrelevant. I forget the name of the other core but it's the one where your soldiers tag enemies when they attack and if you attack the tagged enemy then it causes and explosion...this one seems really stupid, but in the core there are options which allow your soldiers to have your abilities. So if you get missiles, now your soldiers have missiles. There's always a reduction in the performance for this, like less damage, but they get all the core modifiers. I had one game which my soldiers got my black hole power and I was walking through fields of them. Plus, the black hole damage ticks proc this Core's base explosion power. So the moment a drop happened the entire field was covered in black holes, the enemy's attacks were turned off from the silence effect, and then they all got melted. Zero effort but is RNG dependent. The most hilarious thing...they put degenerates in the game and you can just straight up execute them. You can turn them into a nutrient paste, sacrifice them to increase the rating of another soldier, or just send them to the guillotine. I'm surprised the leftists aren't going insane over this capability in the game, but then again, it's a game about dictatorship, oppression, and devotion to the state which is basically everything they love. The thing that's weird though, is that you're forced to pay your soldiers every day and there's no way to make changes to that. We can whip people, torture them to convert them to our cause, force people to breed, set work hours to be harsh or lenient, straight up execute anyone we want, but we can't adjust pay scales? Seems like the first thing you'd do as a tyrant is not pay anyone. Really there's no benefit to going tyrannical in the game. I've only had one person who had a trait which they would wake up and protest who I melted to boost another soldier. Nobody cared. The loss to morale and loyalty was negated the next day and with their meal. Breeding also doesn't seem like an essential or even necessary element to the game especially when you can just keep giving your choice soldiers life extending serums and making them stronger through gifts and food. Battlefield locations are neat, but I think we need more diversity here. Specifically more ship or space oriented type battle locations or even underground facilities. Vehicles are limited to a hovercycle and hover tank. Mech's are controlled by the game for specific missions. The best gun so far I forget the name of, but it's one of the organic rifles which has high fire-rate primary and it's secondary is a grenade. If you get the core upgrades the primary becomes toxic damage and applies a 5 second DoT to whatever it hits and the other core upgrade allows you to spawn monsters whenever you kill a soldiers. Primary fire kills spawn 1 guy while alt fire will spawn 2. Combined with Black Hole, you can have an instant doubling of your fighting force and fly through the maps. They die quick but you can make so many that it trivializes combat in most cases. The basic pistol has a core upgrade which allows you to tag an enemy with a single shot, then alt-fire and mag dump homing bullets on that spot. Great for melting weak points. Bow caster energy gun's core upgrade lets you fire homing bolts which is great for picking off select targets. The fire rate is also decent on it so it can trigger a lot of your abilities. I hope the completed version has more content than just the final zone and actually expands on the city building and management aspect, otherwise this game will probably be 40 hours max to complete. Which isn't bad, but there's a lot of potential here. Something that would be neat to see is converting the area your base in into different types of biomes based on policy decisions. Make it more arid or even volcanic or lush and verdant. There's an option to change your characters power armor appearance but I haven't seen anything in the game. Being able to customize housing for segregation would be neat. Race specific housing assignments, even housing for some of the giant-sized elite guys you can convert would be a nice addition. There's also some clear AI elements but nothing that I can see that is egregious enough to warrant avoiding.
I've opted to refund it since it's far too easy on the base difficulty, and i think that playing on any other difficulty should not be the required experience for enjoyment. I will eventually revisit the game when they launch it into the full game state. It runs fine on my dinky little laptop though.
plenty of things to be polished but core idea have potential for a very fun gameplay loop
宣传的像黄河长江,实际玩起来是小河沟子~所有内容都是点到为止,所有内容都只是皮毛。可能以后会好,但现在不推荐。
A fun mixture of looting and shooting, catching "prisoners" by throwing orbs at them, long-term base development/automation, and resource grinding. Only 6 hours in and am excited to finish.
