Used to be so great, the modding community came out with some absolute masterpieces over the years. They had Halo 3: ODST firefight themed Maps & Mods, An EFT/Ghost of Tabor Map & Mode, and so much more. However when they migrated to UE5, they moved away from Steam Workshop and that resulted in many projects never being updated due to this new way of mod distribution being so different for development & function. Truly Tragic because the community and modders are what kept this game alive and so fresh. Granted there are some mods that have successfully been transferred over and work well however there is a tiny fraction of mods compared to back then.

Guns and stuff r fun but with no playerbase its legit straight buns. When are you gonna make shack and original pavlov crossplay??
Can't really recommend this game ever since they removed full support for Steam workshop which was the life blood of the PC community. This game averages 90 players a day at best now on Steam.
Pavlov used to be one of the best VR shooters available. At its peak, it felt like the closest thing we had to CS:GO in VR: focused, competitive, simple, and genuinely fun. That version of the game is basically gone. The current game feels scattered between too many modes, custom content, and community-server gimmicks. Instead of strengthening the core shooter experience, Pavlov became a fragmented mod playground where the active playerbase feels split across whatever random mode is populated that day — usually TTT or other casual lobbies. If you are looking for a serious VR tactical shooter, this is no longer the first game I would recommend. The numbers do not help its case either. SteamDB currently shows Pavlov sitting around 127 players, with a 24-hour peak of 154, compared to its all-time peak of 3,221 back in January 2021. That is a brutal falloff for a multiplayer-only VR shooter. Steam also shows recent reviews as Mixed, despite the older lifetime score still being positive. The mod situation also did not help. Update 29 retired Steam Workshop support, moved content delivery to mod.io, and made older custom content incompatible unless it was updated. The developers framed it as part of the engine upgrade and cross-platform future-proofing, but from a player perspective, it felt like a hard reset that damaged a lot of the community content people actually cared about. Pavlov should have stayed focused: a strong CS-style VR shooter with a handful of polished modes and maps. Instead, it spread itself thin, divided the playerbase, and lost what made it special. There are better VR shooters now for almost every individual thing Pavlov tries to do. Not recommended. Honestly, if you’re looking for that CS-style experience in VR now, you’re better off elsewhere. Just go play Breachers. Yeah, it leans more toward Siege than classic CS, but it’s one of the only solid defuse-style shooters left in VR right now. Or you could try Vail… but let’s be real.
Started off as fun, the mechanics are relatively smooth for an online VR game and the players I encountered were fun to play with. Unfortunately once I passed the 2 hour refund window, I encountered the EXTREME sweats, toxic bums and other "species" of the Pavlov player base. Wouldn't recommend because in it's current state as those are the more likely people you'll end up encountering with such a small player base now.
Do not recommend why they updated this to no longer use workshop on steam I will never know. Only way you can play good old zombies maps is if you down-patch to DEC 15th 2021 thats last update where workshop mods and maps still work. Idk why they moved it to Mod.io they really ruined everything that was good about this game, And no zombies maps did not get moved over to Mod.io there is like 3 maps. Its honestly so sad I had not played in years and wanted play some zombies only to be crushed and sadden. So all in all do not get idk why they ruined the game this way steam workshop is so much better and way more simple and its the easiest thing ever. just so dumb.... Sorry boiz game is over done cooked and not worth the money anymore...
used to be my favorite vr shooter, good job breaking your game. controls are fubar. put the old controls back on.
老电脑买的一直没玩过,1050带不动,现在换了4080来试试
This used to be my favorite VR game, I'd even say it was my favorite game period, but ever since the switch to UE5 and all workshop mods being made incompatible, the game is dead. Everything that was fun about it is gone, sure there's still mods and stuff but no one wants to play with those if you wipe out all the stuff you already liked because the devs wanted to change engines and give us crossplay with PSVR, which does not have mod support. Not to mention adding microtransactions on top of that as salt in the wound. I fail to understand why Pavlov and Pavlov Shack on the quest weren't made crossplay and both given mod support through mod.io while keeping the game on UE4. Contractors did it. The population and variety would be healthier than ever. Now the game has barely any players at all. If you really want to play a VR shooter in the vein of this game, play Contractors, even if it does't have as many people on it as prime Pavlov it's still far better than this game currently is.
