It has been 500 years since the Deicide War severed the connection between the people and their gods. The Ravaging Lord pushed nations across Terminus to near extinction before the Dragon King himself appeared and brought an end to the bloodshed.
Now, the denizens of Terminus must uncover the mysteries of their past and unlock the silenced power of their gods. For war will come again. And this time the dragons won’t be there to save you.

A mindless grind was acceptable when that was the only thing there was. Now, it's no longer 1999 and people expect much more from an MMO, especially the ability to solo most, if not all of the content. Sure, you can likely solo to max level, but you'll be doing the same kind of crappy fetch/kill quests the entire time. And then what? Putting that failing aside, the game lacks content, most if not all of it's systems are half-finished and placeholders abound. Not usually a big deal for a game that has only been in EA for a short time, but realize this game has been in development for 10 YEARS. If the current state of the game is all that the dev team can accomplish in 10 years, I'm pretty sure it's doomed to fail. Plus, given the fact that the studio is struggling to obtain enough financial backing to keep going, things look pretty bleak for Pantheon. I don't plan on wasting any more of my time and money on it. I wish it was better, but it's just not.

High likelihood that the climate-mediated collapse of human civilization will occur before this game is finished. Best case scenario you get to play a thoroughly mid MMORPG during the American warlord era, or maybe on one of those floating cities from Waterworld?
I don't typically like to write negative reviews, even if a game has a lot of problems because problems can be fixed. This dev team can't fix problems. They are always reworking systems. They announced they were reworking classes and they would wipe when they're done. This game needs a community. No one wants to play a game that will wipe. As I'm writing this, there are about 50-100 people playing the PTR. The CEO just put out a letter about how he has just utterly mismanaged the team and priorities. He fired people to "make room for new devs that can help with what he wants to focus on". I've lost hope for this game. I'm just waiting for Monsters & Memories. This game is in purgatory and I don't think it'll ever be released OR when it's close, they'll find a new reason to rework some core mechanic and wipe again. If you are thinkin about buying this game, I urge you to look at all the recent announcements. Especially the CEO letter.
Dear Devs..... Had high hopes, all this year 2025, Even with the gear changes between levels 20-34 there's not much to aim for... I was also excited for the new patch to come out for new spells for the wizard this Nov. However once again my Wizards damage continues to drop. Going from 2k damage per cast, to 1.3k damage per cast, to now 900s per cast PLUS x2 longer cast speed. That's WITH Heart of the white wyvern, Sash of Ice Prowess, AND Black Tear Idol. I'm only level 37 on my wizard but seriously why keep screwing the mid level guys? Wash your hands with the stuff you have done, and just ADD more to the game and STOP back tracking. Unless its absolutely necessary, maybe I am just to old an lack the knowledge of shared information before the releases. And it becomes more of a shock then it should be. At which point that's a fault of my own. That being said, remember that saying they don't make them like they use to? It takes a strong mind to continue its journey. Although our paths may not meet. Doesn't matter the reviews negative or positive, play what you want, with whomever you want. Its your game you make it what you want it to be. Players: Most players in Pantheon are very enjoyable and thoughtful. And can easily be called friends and family. Yes its a grind, and hopefully its time spent with people you enjoy playing with. But it can be emotionally taxing at times. (death penalty) (patches) (new learning curves) *examples. I played this game with my Father who is 71 years old, younger brother, and brother in law. Who are all similar of mind. And we loved a great many moments playing. But to much is too much. We Hope maybe to come back in a few years an check on this game.
Best game since Vanguard
this game is trash and never go anywhere. Riding on the coat tails of EQ, it will fall before it ever gets going......
As and old everquest player I wanted to love this game , It is a memory of my youth the game holds still some of that sadly It is half-asses in nearly everything they do. The graphics looks liked everquest did in the 2000's. The classes don't feel like they are fully complete on any of the 7 different classes i have leveled passed 20. The weekly patches are not thought out or even tested it feels like. The worse most offensive thing is they don't seem to care about the player base or the quality of content they do release. They will change things that effect us on a whim, like removing a shard. I started on a huge server that had 3 shards and made you feel like it was a community, everywhere you went or wanted to group at you had people you knew and became friends with but, they took a shard away making groups fight over camps ,xp and loot. Then Server merge with 6 other smaller onces even after that 90% of the new server was from my old one ( side note couple months after they drove more people aways we are down to 2 shards again ) Time to get to the New Content part which was also only 20 % done adding new types of damage and much harder mobs they even the best geared people wasn't ready for or could handle the zone was pose to be 35 - 40 levels ,but level 45 - 50's was still dying in it even after all the quick fixed gear updates they released weeks after the " Big new content " it is still a massive struggle and makes the game unfun , The deaths are punishing only 50 % rezz is the max you lose over 300k xp on death so only get 150k back leading to a simple death costing you multiple hours to regain and that is if you don't die again. I can go on and on about the shortfalls of this game and the dev team behide it. I have listed a few small examples. The short of it the game is rough the devs refuse to do anything that would make a players life easier from picking a funny name that became cringeworthly fast to even refunding an item sold to vendor on accident with soild proof of the transaction and everything . If you want to play a game where devs dont care , full group boxers control the names on both shards so you cant camp or farm what you want to to progress , Good news this game is for you.
This is a great start to what hopefully one day will be a very solid old school MMO experience. Keep going guys. As is, so many hours of fun to be had while they are getting things up and running.
Almost 400 hours in, and I have to say the game is good. Just don’t buy it through Steam—lots of crashing issues there.
