After long deliberation on whether to buy Pantheon, I finally decided to go for it during the Winter Sale. I have to say, I’m honestly surprised (in a good way). There is still a lot of work to be done and everything is geared quite heavily toward the 'old-school MMORPG' trend, but it has an enormous amount of potential. The negative reviews held me back initially, but I’m glad I took the plunge anyway. For EU players, it’s also possible to play on the US server, which is where most of the population is. I’m currently playing as a Paladin and I’m enjoying the combat so far. The only thing is that the keybinds are a bit tricky to follow because you can't just place your abilities anywhere you want. If you’re a fan of old-school MMOs, looking for something relaxed and grindy, and Early Access doesn't scare you off, then Pantheon is definitely worth it. Escpecialy on a sale. Also in Spring '26 there is a big update coming to the game (and a character wipe).

This game has so much potential, I really wanted to love it. But after 10 years of development it looks to have another 10 ahead of it to be a fully-fledged playable game at the rate they are going. Devs refuse to hot patch after releasing game breaking bugs, citing that they need time to test the fix when they obviously didn't test the release in the first place. (Crafting was completely broken across the board for a whole week). Playing a druid, I was very excited to get to level 10 to get my pet just to realize they don't do ANYTHING at all. Could be replaced with a minor buff spell. The steam store page claims you can explore an "open world where anything seen can be reached", yet you'll run into an invisible wall in a wide open area, even being able to see mobs on the other side, but unable to select them. Incredibly immersion breaking and wrecks the whole fun of exploration. There aren't enough players to group or experience any content other than the basic solo grind, and seeing the devs talking down to players expressing their concerns in the game's Discord, they're sure to only bleed more of the player-base. Good luck, hope this somehow comes around, but at the moment there is no way anyone should be spending a penny on this game. /uninstall
Company has done a big update to the game and put it on the PTR for the player base to test. Except they forgot about steam. So that's pretty cool.
Runs like ass. i have a 3060 Ryzen 7 5800X. anyone else or just me? lol
Been in production and the graphics are just outdated the gameplay is definitely from eq developers a lot of sounds and game style is a direct clone from eq. Difference is eq was released and had a paying fan base to push better quality in the game play. This how ever doesn’t have anything to incentivize the continuing growth of the content. 40 bucks for this and I stop at 2 hrs asked for a refund. I had hopes for this when it was first put out it’s in production. I doubt you will see a ps 5 or Xbox release. Up to you but it definitely needs much improvement before I look at it again.
So jetzt macht mich fertig. Flame on.
This game does not hold your hand. You have to learn how to live in this world...and die in it...over and over again. My family and I have played this now for 30+ (now over 100+) hrs together - and it's a mixture of awesome and "OH SH1T3!" Do not purchase if you're thinking about soloing your way thru this, you'll be disappointed. Every success is hard fought. A moment of oversight/negligence will be your last. This is for the hard-core mmo survivalist. Thank you, Pantheon, for the fun.
I wanted to love the game I am a long time fan of Everquest but mismanagement and bad dev team abusing the community and outcries of people being harassed and abused by devs to help others is just wrong. So of the game-play was very nostalgic and really made me want to enjoy it. However its very early access and constant wipes make wanting to grind up to 40 every time a none starter. Even if you get past that i felt like they took some of the wrong things from Everquest with the good. Item stats are as bad as they where in old EQ with hardly any difference between 1-40 gear and the few items with good stats being so overly camped to sell or wear that they are impossible. Crafting is another miss with gear being either utterly useless or somewhat good but having the most overly farmed mats because everyone wants the +1 primary stat gear. I just feel like this game could still use a overhaul of balance of gear stats making them all good stats and the rare a little better for the min maxers out there make crafting all useful and some close to best in slot so they are good filler or make the best in slot the heavy farmed mats. I just feel all around not sure what the aim of the early access was becuase i've yet to see any real changes to make things better. I don't see quest drops any faster or any balance changes besides spell/class changes which is fine but usually only effects 1 class and leads to server wipes. All in all can't recommend currently maybe I'll try again after i see a balance patch that effects stats.
"Content is King" Proceeds to reconfigure stats on armor, breaking everything and making stats more useless than they already were. Now they're using AI since they're falling behind on everything they've promised. Lets not forget the drama with the Developers favoring a certain guild and giving them handouts too. Was fun and great at the beginning. But wouldn't recommend wasting your time or money on this game until they fully release it.
This game will never be ready to fully release.
