after patch update my game is so laggy and buggy
Not worth it even for free
Even though this game is for free, I do not recommend adding it to your library. While playing this game I felt like I lost my mind. There is no actual gameplay in here: you just have to run from one NPC to another and talk to them which is so boring because map is pretty big and dialogues are not too deep and would fit better in game for kids (because of how ordinary and empty those NPCs are). Another thing to do is growing plants which is even less interesting as there are no mechanics to that beyond simply planting, watering and harvesting them. Graphic is so plain it looks like someone have made placeholders and forgot to change them to actual 3D assets later on. I am truly impressed that that studio lured enough people to play this game and pay for some clothes to keep their servers working.
I love Hodari and their story, some of the story is interesting but really its just a cash grab disguised as a bad house decorating/love sim. Very weak on the love too. They don't seem to care about anything but their really over over priced store skins/items. Its not fun to play and was just running back and forth while grinding. If your into that sort of thing but I expected more. I don't even have faith in all these early access games anymore anyway they always take forever IF they ever come out fully. I had hopes for it but its not enjoyable and as someone who doesn't really make friends its not a game you can fully play alone since you need to team up for the tree chopping. 2/10 the two being possible only because of Hodaddy.
Don't get me wrong, it's a decent and cozy game but very damn exhausting. Worst navigation and compass system I have seen, takes too long to just find where I have to go and who I have to talk to. I haven't marked most quests except for one yet I still see all NPCs in the compass. I can't even see main quest markers. Like.. what? Fix that thing...
There is no way to follow a quest that is in another area, and there is no indication that you are going in the right direction. in addition, active quests will randomly not have any indication that you can turn them in unless you manually check every mission. It's been in beta for three years, so I have no hope that the devs actually care about this game anymore.
Это была почти самая любимая игра для лампового времяпровождения, но теперь в нее даже не зайти. Спасибо, дура.
I want to preface this review by saying: I love what Palia *was*. I have hundreds of hours in the game before the Steam version was released and I still log in daily. But I *cannot* recommend it in its current state to new players. Let's start with the good: Palia is a super fun, cozy, farming and building game. I have spent so much time creating the perfect home, exploring the world, getting to know the characters... At its core, it's everything I want in a game. But then there's the bad: Over the past year or so, there has been a hard shift away from the things that made the game cozy and relaxing. Bundle Boards (time limited events) have started to come faster and faster, with required items that are increasingly difficult to get, making the game less of a game and more of a JOB, if you want to get those limited rewards that the devs tell you directly won't be back around for some time, if at all. In addition, there is more and more monetization of game elements. Lunar Paths (battle passes) lock all of their nicer rewards behind a paywall, making them less appealing to complete - costing large amounts of time for often mediocre rewards. And the balance of value to the real money cost has never been S6's strong suit, with many cosmetic items costing as much or even more than a whole AAA game. Releases are coming faster, with less free content, more game-breaking bugs, and the dev team often seems a bit tone deaf to the concerns of their players, focusing on pushing more FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) content and events to keep engagement high, rather than putting in features that draw in players for the *fun* of it. In truth, it's a shame to see these changes in a game I do really love. I truly hope that things will settle down and return to the coziness that I enjoyed so much. Until then, I recommend that new players go in with eyes open, knowing that they will likely miss out on things unless they are willing to spend large amounts of time and money.
I want to like this game, I really do but there's just SO many bugs and visual errors that speak to an utter lack of care and devotion put into it. On top of that its just as monetary based, if not more, as mobile gatcha games (think Genshin Impact) expect, at least in those games you can earn the bought currency whereas in this you can't. 'But its free, you get what you pay for,' once again, so are the mobile gatcha games at at least they don't have bug lists the size of a pharmacy receipt, nor do they have bugs from the start of the game, 2 years ago. The story seems great, and the in game mechanics (fishes, mining ect) and dungeons are fun, its just the utter amount of bugs, visual errors and graphical glitches that, once again, just make it feel like a way to get money first and play a game second. The outfits in this are not cheap, hell, to buy the battle pass you have to spend £28!! That is asinine. Not to bring up Genshin again, but with that £28 you can buy the daily log-in rewards AND the battle pass that gives more rewards. Furthermore that's all they are, cosmetics. Not a new playstyle, new character or new technique to learn; cosmetic reskins or furniture. I enjoy playing but I do not like nor recommend this game
