Paleo Dive is an atmospheric VR diving adventure that takes you through more than 500 million years of Earth’s history. Explore five handcrafted underwater environments—from a Cambrian lagoon and colorful reefs to dense kelp forests and the darkness of the deep sea.
Move your arms naturally to swim through the water, collect discoveries, and pull yourself along suitable surfaces. Keep an eye on your oxygen and return to the research base in time. On Normal difficulty, dangerous creatures can attack, and a failed dive will cost you everything you discovered during that expedition.
Your wristwatch displays your oxygen, depth, water pressure, and remaining collectibles. A holographic map and an unlockable Finder help you navigate your surroundings.
Photograph prehistoric animals with your underwater camera. Capture each creature from four different angles to unlock a rotatable 3D specimen in your archive. Your photographs are permanently stored in a personal gallery.
Use the DNA scanner to collect additional research samples. Once a species has been fully documented through photography and its genome has been completely decoded, you can release it into your walk-in aquarium.
Collect fossil and map fragments, coins, and rare Moon Rocks. Recovered items and completed research unlock new diving areas, while coins allow you to improve your swimming performance, oxygen capacity, and equipment.
Create your own loadout using the camera, DNA scanner, headlamp, Finder, and oxygen bottle. Finding Moon Rocks also unlocks a Night Mode for each area.

Paleo Dive was developed exclusively for virtual reality. A compatible PC VR headset and motion controllers are required. The game supports OpenXR.

Тыкалась игра на уже сильно устаревшем Pico Neo 3 без каких либо проблем на средних настройках графена Если вам понравился SubSide, то эта игра обязательна к покупке. Очень приятное развитие её идей, только сюда хочется возвращаться почаще. Помимо коллекционирования всяких штук, вы также занимаетесь исследованием живности, фотографируете её несколько раз с разных ракурсов, собираете ДНК отдельным сканеров, благодаря этому исследовать водичку здесь интереснее чем в SubSide. Из минусов разве что графика послабее чем у SubSide, но не критично. Крайне медитативная и залипательная штука с приятной музыкой на фоне.

Visually stunning with a satisfying gameplay loop with progressively larger maps and more dangerous animals. The sound track doesn't get enough love in these reviews - it fits so well with the ocean vibe. Definitely recommending due to how fast the Dev is to make improvements and patches for bugs and gameplay issues. I had accepted the fact I would never get to swim around in an anciet ocean untl now. I only have a short play time so far, though I can see myself spending a lot more time. The graphics are impressive and swimming around in an anciet ocean at night is breathtaking. The creatures seem to be meticulously modelled and I stuck my face in to quite a few. I usually play games like this with everything unlocked and just relax looking at things. Having said that, unlocking things in the spirit of discovery fits this game. If you have ever wanted to swim around hundreds of millions of years ago, you have to buy this game. Edit: not sure if I haven't played enough to work it out, but some more information in game about the era you are diving in and the critters you have discovered would be nice.

A little rough around the edges, but a good concept that I am excited to explore further. I see others complaining about performance, but I’m using a Quest 3 hooked up to a 1080ti and Ryzen 7 CPU and it works for me. I do agree that the water effects on surfacing last a bit too long, and I hope to see those sorts of things change with future patches and additions. I’m excited to try out the aquarium functions once I unlock them!
PALEO DIVE est une superbe expérience VR d’exploration sous‑marine. Les environnements préhistoriques sont magnifiques, la nage est fluide et naturelle, et la découverte des créatures disparues est vraiment captivante. La boucle photo → analyse → aquarium fonctionne parfaitement et donne envie de replonger encore. Un jeu immersif, apaisant et visuellement splendide.
Getting a refund - when you have to come up for air after being underwater there's a dripping water graphic that looks like water is constanly pouring off your screen, it's way too much. It made me feel so sick. If when coming out of the water there was only a little couple of drips as you clear your vision it would be heaps better.
I love Pre history and VR so this is great. Bonus points for including my favorite Cambrian creature Hallucigenia! Even though the real thing was no more than 2.5 inches, the one in this is twice the size of the real thing. The water effect when going above needs work as others have said, and I hope more animals get added down the line. I'm also not a fan of having to search for random things just to check out the next level. Overall great work by the dev!
Played for about 17 minutes and unlocked 5 achievements. First impressions are mixed. Swimming around and collecting things was pretty fun once I figured out the controls, especially using your arms to swim faster. I did have a few annoying moments where my hands got stuck behind rocks or I got stuck near the ocean floor and struggled to get back up for air. My biggest issue is the progression. I thought finishing the collectibles would unlock the next level, but you basically have to complete everything in the first level before moving on. I ended up going back into the same area multiple times and it started getting boring pretty quickly. The camera is usable, but I found the DNA scanner really awkward and confusing even after reading the tutorial. I got frustrated and stopped playing for now. I might come back and give it another try, but the first level definitely didn't hook me enough to make me want to 100% it before seeing somewhere new.
