Instead of finishing the story out in thus game they are cash grabbing on the sequel. The game is fun and I have really enjoyed it. However having to buy another game to get the rest of the story is BS. I would say definately look up game play videos before purchase to get a better idea if this game is your bag. It is an interesting take on Tower Defense and if you like TD you probably wil like this
One of the most intense games ive played so far. Yes, there are bugs. But in my eyes they dont hurt this game. If you like grinding for loot and you are a fan of towerdefences this game is for you!!!!

Its a pretty cool game and i hope the sequel expands on the jank rather than scrubs it away. It has a lot of obvious passion put into it and has a lot of cool concepts and half decent execution of those concepts. If it can refine and learn from this iteration it would be pretty cool. You know in the obscure genre of 3d hybrid tower defense games id say its better than dungeon defenders or orks must die. A big problem with this game in retrospect was expectations in that it got shoved into a lot of rts media bc of its slight rts mechanics. Its far closer to a Hybrid between a extraction shooter & an orks must die like tower defense game. Hybrid within a hybrid. The rts mechanics are for slight optimization of managing your towers on your base. Plus very optional unit production mechanics. There is a good diveristy on how you can defend your base. You can focus on making your base core do a lot of nonsense. You can focus on making your operator/hero also do a lot of nonsense with interesting weapon customization and gatcha like hero traits. You could make the basecore an RTS basecore focused on bringing a lot of materials and spiting out 20 units if you wished. The stupid amount of diversity in what you can do is great. In terms of its main flaw if i could say anything. Its tedium. Kinda reminds me of a recent game in mewgenics in that folks talk about how the house feels like a really annoying jump pad to the turn based sections. In narrative works its relaitivly important to have those sections as they build up to the tower defense segments. The tower defense mode is a lot more fun after the tedious extraction shooter sections. But the extraction shooter sections and the tight resource management is tedious and annoying. If you skip those and just do the survival mode (tower defense segment), its quite tedious and feels kinda boring as your basecore just blows everything up. One of the reasons i am pointing it out in this way. Is that i really don't want the sequels reaction to these flaws to result in the game reducing one or the other. All this realistically means is that they are both not good enough by itself. You wouldn't want to play a game focused on one or the other for too long. The game only half works bc its pulling you from one to the other until the endgame. But the synergy between the two is what makes the game. If you can figure out how to make that synergy good enough and both modes good enough they both feel amazing to play. The bar rises quite considerably. Most folks point out the game would prob be really cool but just needs more work. This is prob a portion of what that is representing. In conclusion, i feel the games best at the middle. At the point you are going back and fourth between the modes. Also at its best when you are experimenting and playing with the cool sandbox that has been placed down. The game is at its worst when you are playing one mode for too long bc the modes are a bit jank/boring either grinding by going too long in the extraction mode. Or grinding going too long in the survival mode. Personal suggestion is to make both modes better, personal suggestion for folks wanting to play the game. It gets good in the midgame bad at the endgame, bad at the beginning. Tough it out at the beginning, have fun making cool land battleships with weird builds. Don't try to optimize the game for some sort of endgame type of thing. Although i suppose that is what people are dying for in the reviews and whatnot. They want a good endgame desperately and that is a sign of success in of itself. When people are saying "game dead" games dead for the endgame of a grindy progressive type of thing. If you see it as the complete version of this product. It feels like the start of something pretty cool. The first game in a series. Then they will ruin it. It will be like valkyria chronicles. but that's prob far into the future. (hopefully) One side note, my personal thoughts are that this story feels like a really stupid light novel & fae is an idiot. Last side note, A full representation of my personal thoughts. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3699516676
this game is abandoned.
