Orten Was The Case - A free movement puzzle/adventure game where you play as a youngster stuck in a time loop with the simple task of saving the world from literal destruction.
Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.29/day in the week to Sep 9 → 0.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

This is a recommendation with some pretty strong caveats. This game is an obvious labor of love. It's creative and different. It has a truly engaging mystery and makes you feel smart. Up to a point, where it becomes rage-inducingly frustrating because it is, in a sense, an unfinished and unpolished game. If you're okay with playing this game until you reach the standard (bad) ending, you will only have to forgive a few charming quirks and bugs. If you, like me, are intrigued beyond the standard ending, then you're in for a painful ride. A lot of the annoying movement quirks become a barrier to enjoyment, and the fact that the game doesn't provide feedback for partial solutions makes you dismiss things that were correct after all. That's bad design and bad implementation. I do still recommend this game. For the patient ones.
super good until you get to the last puzzle, which is filled with ill-thought out ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that cost nearly half my playtime despite knowing the "solution". and after that you still get a bad ending and it turns out that you need to figure out a bunch of nonsensical stuff on your own to get the ACTUAL ending. I'm good bro I'm sure I just got unlucky in a few big ways but this should have been playtested more. I'll still drop a thumbs up but I can't necessarily recommend this because of how badly the last bit pissed me off

Ass bra spel, så bra storry och så fin art style
Very nice
Orten Was the Case is a beautiful and incredibly well-thought-out game. The art style is one of its strongest features. At times, it genuinely feels like you are playing inside a painting. The time-loop structure is also extremely well designed, and you can really feel how much work must have gone into making all the different events, characters and locations fit together within the same repeating timeline. The characters are very well characterized too. After spending enough time in Orten, you actually start getting attached to them. Their visual design is certainly unusual and probably won't appeal to everyone, but personally I think it gives the game a very strong identity. The game is not without problems. Character controls can sometimes feel imprecise, and there are occasional glitches and bugs. Some issues can even seem to carry over between loops, while other situations can cause deaths that are not always easy to understand. A few sections are also not communicated very clearly and can lead to unnecessary confusion. For example, after finding a map of the old underground tunnels showing a boat, I assumed I was supposed to stay on the Bloodstone boat in order to enter them. I tried several times, but every time a worm would seemingly pass straight through the boat and kill me before I could enter the tunnel. Because of how it looked, I kept thinking I was dealing with a bug, when in reality I was supposed to find a completely different route. Situations like this could have been communicated more clearly. Despite these flaws, considering that this game was made almost entirely by a single developer, I honestly consider it a small masterpiece. The amount of thought, creativity and work behind it is remarkable. Thank you for giving me such a memorable experience. I have already finished the game once, and I will definitely keep playing to discover the other two endings.
Brilliant, even thought a little bit rough around some edges! Maybe be extra forgiving initially, and it will likely not disappoint you!
banger
game crashes all the time, full of bugs and fighting mechanics are a pain in the ass
Good puzzle game. Sometimes buggy or hard to tell where you are moving, but nothing that ruined the experience. Interesting story, some endings are quite hard to figure out on your own.
AMAZING game, great, absolutely. Must play for any lover of "Time loop information style" games. Nothing is kept between loops so you only play on information as a resource, and I love it. It is one of the best of the year. AND THE VISUALS ARE STUNNING.
