Reviews
Recommended, because it's a nice polished game, fun and everything, BUT it's quite short. between one and 2 hours for the "main" game. A shame, because it deserves a bit more, more boss, more enemies, more levels, more!

Good game overall. Possibly a bit rough around the edges, blocks not really being worth targeting alone and powerups being too far away/too short, but they're fixable in updates. For a fiver worth it.
It's a good time. The bullet hell part is more fun than the resource collecting part, so the recently added Boss Rush mode is a great addition.
Orb Breaker is a bullet hell incremental game. This is a lovely combinaison of two of my favorite genres, lots of bullets to avoid and the satisfaction of permanent upgrades with the incremental aspect of the game. The music is pretty nice and the graphics are basic yet satisfying. The game is slightly laggy at times when there are explosions, but other than that, I haven't found any issue with the game. You have a regular skill tree where you spend gold to unlock permanent upgrades and a boss skill tree as well. The boss skill tree allows you to indefinitely reallocate your skills, so you can modify your build however you like. I don't understand most of those negative reviews, I haven't had to go back to a previous level nor did I find the first 45 minutes of the game tedious or boring, everything is beautifully balanced. Overall, a great incremental/bullet hell hybrid. Recommended from me!
I truly don't get the negative reviews for this game. This game is amazing and was lots of fun, well balanced too. Whoever complained about it being hard clearly has skill issues but don't let negative reviews keep you from buying this game. It's a bit short but I like short games way more than long ones.
Honestly, I'm uncertain where I land on this one. I will say, that overall my experience was positive, so I'm leaving a positive review. But, there were a bunch of small criticisms that, for me, piled up. First, I did want to say, the game took me under an hour to beat, and I didn't feel the need to play any of the endless modes after that point. The game played like Yar's Revenge's younger hipster brother. The audio was great, the gameplay was engaging. MOST of the technical aspects of the game fell short for me. I don't know why but I found the controls a little unintuitive. The upgrade tree wasn't exciting - +5% bounce chance is, I'm sure, impactful, but not something I can be enthusiastic about. Levels are timed, but there's no reward for surviving a level, so the only thing that matters is maximizing value. That value then turns into semi-mandatory upgrades which then get you to the next level. The enemies occur just a bit more frequently than your ability to dispatch them, which should be correct, except that this turns the blocks you're allegedly mining into a distraction. What you end up doing is mining the enemies, or ignoring them long enough to collect the points to get to the next upgrade. This feels more like a bullet-hell rogue-like than an incremental. Which would be fine! But again, the upgrade tree felt like I was just choosing what was *next* not trying to amend my playstyle or find new options during a run. Most of the ten shipped levels were just a matter of a few minutes, except for the last level, which was on the cusp of being obnoxious. (Clearly, not actually difficult - I did beat the game in under an hour.) But I did find myself having purchased literally every upgrade there was and still grinding that boss. None of this should take away from the fact that it's a fun game with decent production value and an interesting premise. I just think that the game feels a little underbaked for what it was. It's entirely possible my old-school gamer soul just didn't find the game as challenging as the real audience of this game would. I would say it's not bad if you catch it on discount or as part of a bundle.
Short game (I left it open on accident lol). Exactly what it says on the tin. Good for the sale price.
I usually don't have negative things to say about games, but this one might be an exception, albeit a small one, I'm just grinding stage 8 over and over and over again to get max upgrades for the boss, its a bit late and I'm tired of this, if you do add more content to this game, maybe make a slightly easier way to grind? or am I just bad at the game. I'm only recommending this game because I still enjoy it to some degree, just maybe the creator of the game could try to maintain this game? (didn't realize this guy also made a game about feeding a black hole)
This is a really nice bullet hell game combined with an upgrade tree. Quite short, but that is fine.
