About
Modern Tactical Action:
Operation Athena delivers a modern take on classic tactical shooters with a stronger action edge. It’s built around coordinated squad pushes and constant pressure, while still rewarding smart movement, positioning, and teamwork over pure speed.
Bold and Dynamic AI:
Enemy forces don’t just stand and shoot. They flank, reposition, react to sound, dynamically choose and hold defensive positions, and make use of nearby cover. AI spawns are handled by a level-specific director, giving each map its own thematically appropriate enemy setups while changing where enemies appear from one mission to the next. Expect enemies to fall back, flank, hold ground, and counterattack throughout each mission.
Immersive and Impactful Gunplay:
Every weapon has its own feel, with tuned recoil, penetration, and punchy feedback. Suppressors support quieter approaches, while a range of optic options lets you tailor your rifle for close-quarters fights or longer engagements. Gunplay is smooth, responsive, and built to keep firefights intense without feeling arcade-fast.
Single-player offers its own dedicated experience built around flexibility and squad command.
Play completely alone or deploy alongside a commandable squad of AI teammates. Direct your team throughout the mission, order them to follow or hold position, send them to specific locations, and prepare coordinated doorway entries.
Teammates can stack beside doors, open them, breach and clear rooms, or use a flashbang before entering.
Solo players use the dedicated Athena Teamlead class rather than the four specialized multiplayer roles.
Athena Teamlead combines the weapons and equipment normally divided between multiplayer classes into one flexible loadout. Solo players have access to all primary weapon categories, expanded secondary weapon options, additional medical supplies, grenades, flashbangs, and breaching charges.
Athena Teamlead also has its own independent appearance customization and saved loadout.
Online co-op uses four specialized Operator classes, each with unique equipment or abilities designed to encourage teamwork.
Choose your role carefully and work with your squad to complete the operation.

The Team Leader embodies command, guiding the squad and keeping the mission on track. When the odds turn grim, he can call in one reinforcement over the radio to bring fresh strength into the fight.
The Medic is responsible for providing medical support to injured teammates and ensuring the squad's survivability during combat engagements. The Medic will utilize equipment to render aid to injured team members.
The Support Gunner specializes in providing suppressive fire and firepower support to the team. The Support Gunner will carry additional ammunition to reinforce the team.
The Breacher is tasked with gaining entry into fortified or barricaded enemy positions. The Breacher will utilize a breaching shotgun and will also be equipped with additional explosives.

A classic tactical shooter staple—clear the map of all hostiles. Every encounter plays differently thanks to dynamic AI spawning and enemy behaviors.
Infiltrate, secure, and extract. Rescue hostages from fortified enemy positions, balancing speed and caution while navigating the risks of friendly fire and unexpected resistance.
Find and defuse planted explosives before time runs out. Work with your team to clear rooms, defuse the explosives, and navigate through challenging and dynamic enemy AI.
Locate and extract high-value crates using gathered intel while enemy reinforcements assault you. Your squad must recover every target and fight your way out together, creating a tense, objective-driven experience that pressures you unlike any other mode in Operation Athena.
From villas and galleries to sand-swept compounds and urban high-rises, missions unfold across varied international locations. Each map brings unique tactical opportunities with strategically built level design, interactive lighting, and dynamic enemy encounters.
Your loadout evolves with an ever-expanding selection of weapons.
Operation Athena equips you with a focused selection of firearms built for every situation. From close-quarters SMGs to precision rifles and high-capacity support weapons, each gun is designed to fill a distinct role and keep your squad mission-ready.

Got this game as a gift from my husband and we play very often!! I actually learned how to play FPS games by starting with this! As much as I may not be familiar with the genre the environments are very immersive, I feel like I'm there during a mission with the feel of the AI and the way the buildings are set up is so much fun. Trying different methods of stacking with your team, the way the dynamic leans give more ways to clear rooms, and so many more small mechanics that were put into consideration makes this game all the more interesting to me. So far I've only played Medic and Breaching, but even then I love the way each role plays and feels. The dev team is very responsive to community feedback and with this recent update I can only imagine what else they have in store, so far it's nothing but excitement from me!
underrated but excellent game

This game runs terrible, assets take several minutes to start rendering, and the gameplay isn't even good enough to somewhat make up for it.
I can't recommend this if you are into tactical shooters. The graphics look fine gut the gameplay is just not there. There is nothing differentiating this game from any of the others that have come out in the last couple of years. Movement doesn't feel right and your objectives are very limited along with any of the weapon or clothing options. You will move through the game as a lone wolf doing terrorist hunt and in a couple of hours you will have played the content. It's cheap right now but there is just so little on offer and why does it even exist in this manner when games like Operator, Ground Branch or Ready or Not are available. Maybe it will offer more in about 5 years.
This game has improved a lot over the year I have owned it. Initially, it felt underbaked. But I can clearly see the amount of effort the developers have put in since. It could use a lot of polish. For example, the sound effects are a little lacking. But the visuals are really nice, the enemy AI is fun and engaging and the weapon animations are also really good looking. Whilst the game has a lot of polish to do to get near the levels of Ready or Not, I would recommend giving it a shot especially considering the affordable price.
Great new Tactical Shooter has a lot of promise and i cant wait to join and see what the future of Operation Athena holds.!!!

Sadly, no real development after..dunno 1 Year or so? Reinstalled and deinstalled after 2 rounds of playtime. Will play Incursion Red River, the bots feel more natural too.
Non mi sembra di vedere livelli di difficoltà. Non si riesce a giocare, ti fanno fuori subito ,,,,, penso di aver buttato via 10€.
Awesome hidden gem, I recommend this to any former vets and anyone who likes "slow is smooth, smooth is fast", beautifully simple combat tactics that genuinely give this game an oddly nostalgic but unforgiving experience. Play this one boyz, trust me.
