One Night: Burlesque is a solid detective noir tale with an excellent art style. Every choice in the game is an illusion and that includes big thematic decisions like identifying the correct suspect or deciding whether to use the main character’s psychic abilities or not. However, the game does everything else well enough that I am not too hung up on that.
The display is interesting but I still can't get it when "hearing the inside voice". The screen is only 2 characters standing there without anything to interact :(

Short but quite interesting VN, great graphic design, I love how each character has its dedicated color/diologue cloud. The mystery is simple but enjoyable. Music is good, though nothing exceptional.
This game has a really fun concept and I enjoyed the experience a lot, yet since the length and depth of the story have rather little to offer, I can only recommend this with a discount. The concept is awesome and unique: I love the combination of a burlesque setting with a murder mystery AND supernatural powers on top of that. The gameplay is a visual novel combined with little sections of point&click minigames, so it's pretty relaxing. I love the whole aesthetic and atmosphere of the game, the soundtrack and art are beautiful! The story is intriguing and I liked the mindreading function. Also the writing is entertaining and with a bunch of funny moments. As previously stated, my only issue with it is the short length which makes the story feel more superficial and less complex. I believe it would've been amazing to have more content to add depth to the story and have more conversations, maybe more game mechanics, etc. It additionally would've been great if the interactive aspects would perhaps lead to different story branches or events. Besides that I still think that the game is very well done and worth buying during sale!
I was drawn into picking this game up because of its setting and art style and it definitely did not disappoint, I really love the art and how the game looks. Without spoiling anything: your objective in the game is to deduce who the killer is, it is a noir detective game. I must say it was not difficult to figure out who the killer was, but I enjoyed the ride. The story was good, the art and general style of the game and its setting was very enjoyable. Gameplay is what it is, it is a visual novel so it is just read text>continue>read text>pick choice>read text>continue, interspersed with very simple mini-games, that being mind-reading and cocktail making. Nothing groundbreaking here. It is quite short and I think this game is doing itself a big disservice with its price. It's just too expensive for what it is, at the end of the day it is a very short visual novel with nothing in it that would somehow excuse the asking price. If it looks like this is a game that would tickle your fancy I recommend you pick it up during a sale, don't except anything mind-blowing though. Good game for a fair price (on discount) Loved the art style, atmosphere, and concept. Warning: there are some moments with fast-flashing lights (for those sensitive to it)
Personally I enjoyed this regardless of how short it was. The art and style was very clean and I liked that this was in black and white with the exception of color based on each character involved. So, very well organized. The burlesque scene was classy and beautiful; The classic mystery/detective plot always pairs well with that. The game is interactive in terms of deciding when to use your special powers, bar tending skills, and as well as choose-your-own path. However, this was pretty much linear as your choices in dialogue don't have much of an effect. Whatever your choose, it still leads to the ultimate ending. The real choice you have is deciding who the killer may be. I bought this game during the summer sale so I thought it was very well worth it. If you don't mind playing a short game, I would still recommend this even at full price, I think the devs did a really good job.
Story was overall good, but game needed a little more polish in my opinion. For a short visual novel there's far too many spelling or grammer mistakes. It's jarring every time and pulls you out of the experience. For example "Get your f**king hands OF my girl" instead of "Get your f**king hands OFF my girl". Another pass over with the spell check would go a long way Also a core mechanic of this game is mind reading. But before you mind read you need to 'connect' to the person, and you will do this several times in a conversation. Every interaction is: talk to the person, 'connect' to mind, read their thoughts, continue to talk, have to 'connect' again, read their thoughts etc. Over and over. And the method to connect is the same for every person, every time. You rotate these little dots around a circle until you hear a ding. The whole thing is very repetitive. A small change that could have gone a long was if each person had a different method of connecting Overall I would say it's fine, but only get it on a steep discount.
This game was fun, but definitely short and would have benefited from a higher difficulty if there were limits to read minds without having to abuse drugs. Really captivating drawings and stylistic choices that immerse you in the atmosphere. I liked having everything in black and white with the only hints of color in the balloons and some accessories of the cast of characters. If they want to create an entire universe of mind readers who have to solve murder cases, given that it is a very interesting concept that can be recycled, it would be a good idea to make the game longer, more difficult and implement mechanics to make it more playful. I don't feel like giving it a negative review because it is well done, but I found it unsatisfactory in terms of entertainment.
This is one of the times I wish Steam had a neutral button. I’d recommend this game only on a deep sale. I paid under $2.00 for it and feel that was definitely a fair price. The art is beautiful, the characters are compelling-though most aren’t particularly likable. The story is decent-but incredibly short. I 100%-ed this game in under three hours (two full playthroughs where I read all of the dialogue and made different choices, one where I skipped over the text just to get the rest of the achievements). The game also focuses far more on the mystery solving aspect than it does on the Burlesque aspect. Plus the game spends far more time with the patrons of the club (almost all of whom are various levels of skeevy) than it does with the dancers. We only ever learn anything significant about two of them-the MC and her friend. Still, it is far from a bad game-just one that didn’t quite meet my expectations. Also, the game plays wonderfully on the Steam Deck (though it’s far easier to use the touchscreen the few times buttons will not suffice than it is to use the Deck’s mouse IMO). Idk why it isn’t marked as “Verified” or at the very least “Playable” yet. It’s a bit annoying as an achievement hunter that it doesn’t currently count towards my completion percentage nor count as one of my “Perfect Games” on my main profile.
