Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 14 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Build a global oil empire in an engaging 2D clicker game. Start with simple oil extraction and gradually expand your infrastructure by constructing new buildings and managing their operations. Upgrade your facilities, optimize processes, and unlock new resources that become the foundation of your growing power. Every decision brings you one step closer to dominating the global market.

Progress, level up, and plan future runs. As you extract hundreds, thousands, and millions of liters of oil, you unlock new development stages, buildings, and Perk Points. By ending a run and returning to the lobby, you can spend these points to unlock permanent upgrade cards that strengthen your strategy. Each new run allows you to grow faster, earn more income, and build an even more powerful empire.

Produce, process, and trade goods in many different ways. The oil you extract can be sold at your own gas stations, transported by train to other continents, or shipped to global markets via container ships. As you progress, you will unlock gold mining, which can be smelted into bars used for advanced upgrades or sold for quick cash. Develop factories, manufacture ammunition, and prepare to defend your empire in the endgame.

Manage your business and political influence. Invest in a bank, issue loans, and choose between high interest rates for maximum profit or lower rates to gain public support. Use an airship to drop cash on cities, increasing your reputation and influence. Knowledge gained in the Library unlocks new possibilities: it boosts worker efficiency at oil derricks, increases factory output, or can be exchanged for other goods.

I do like idle games, but this one—even though it’s in Early Access—makes you want to throw it right back in the developer’s face. Doesn’t he play his own game? Or does he think everyone can play the way I do? It’s still fun until the helicopter and drones show up, but then you can’t keep up fast enough and end up getting killed. Plus, having to save separately just to get the perks is totally unnecessary. The developer should really think carefully about what he puts in his game and how
Oil Empire is a decent, small-scale idle game that feels well-polished now, as the developers seem to have fixed most of the bugs—I didn't run into a single issue. There isn't much hands-on gameplay, but it's a solid, hassle-free background clicker.

It seems like the developer of this game might have moved on from it. The game was pretty fun up until the final stage, where you really need votes for everything. You get 3 votes every minute, but to buy three different buildings—which all cost at least 50—you'll need votes. You also need votes to earn prestige points for other buildings. Plus, votes are required to produce ammo or rockets to fend off the military—and it’s not just a few hits. For drones, it takes at least 12 shots, and for helicopters, around 50 rockets or 100 bullets. Crafting bullets gives you 3 at a time, while rockets are made one at a time, and each takes 30 seconds. On top of that, if you're aiming for achievements, there's a challenge to speed run the game in under an hour. And be careful—if you ever stop your game for any reason, you lose all your progress and have to start over.
Oil Empire is a solid idle/incremental management game with light shooter and base-defense elements. It seems that many of the negative reviews come from players expecting it to be a spiritual successor to Oiligarchy. Since I've never played that game, I evaluated Oil Empire on its own merits rather than through the lens of nostalgic expectation (not that there's anything wrong with reviewing things that way - i just haven't played the earlier title). Taken at face value, I found Oil Empire to be both relaxing and enjoyable. While it embraces the familiar progression of the incremental genre, it also requires a modest amount of strategy (for the genre not when compared to proper strategy games). Efficiently managing your assets while balancing expansion with defending your infrastructure from military raids adds just enough decision-making to keep the gameplay engaging without undermining its laid-back nature. There are also some shooting mechanics but i found them to be more of a hinderance than a positive attribute to the overall experience. Oil Empire doesn't try to reinvent the genre, but it doesn't need to. It takes a straightforward concept, executes it competently, and delivers an enjoyable management experience for those looking for a relaxing game with a bit more involvement than the average idle title.
