Basically, an english lession. String noums and insults together, get points. Drain the adversary life (burn? patience?) bar first, you win. Funny, but rather repetitive. Might work better as a party game.
If you enjoy the Deadpool-esque reference humor this game is going for, I won't say that this game isn't worth the money. There are gameplay improvements with each character having a short campaign of sorts, and the comeback mechanic making rounds more interesting. I just don't feel like the humor is enhanced by the format of Mad Libs insults. It gets stale to me a lot quicker than the original. Don't get me wrong, it's not a "bad" game, I simply don't find it fits my palette.

Found this one to be quite similar to the first game, with some improvements. It's a silly game, but it's funny if you get the jokes. Also easier/quicker to get all achievements because it doesn't require you to match specific phrases like in the first game. Some people prefer or only enjoyed the first one, I actually found both enjoyable, but this second game features a Steam workshop, something the first one should have too. Really just not as funny as it could have been. The game is essentially just checking whether you can string together a grammatically correct sentence and not much else. The options you have to choose from are very limited and not guaranteed to make sense, let alone be humorous.
Actually… basic fun. This is a Words/Puzzle game with a comedy angle. The graphics are adequate; the music is okay. The story is made up of several short bits, poking fun at familiar characters and actors. No bugs or crashes. Overall, entertaining but not that funny. Most of the time it’s just nonsense wording that still scores points. On the bright side, it’s very light to play if you just want something short between meals. It includes cards and achievements, though the last two demand extreme grinding. Very cheap, especially in bundles. Online is dead. You can certainly have fun with it, just don’t expect more than giggles—especially if you’re not familiar with the characters and their backgrounds. That’s likely the case for younger generations, so it ends up kinda niche.

[b]They upgraded the battle system while downgrading everything else[/b]. Career challenges are the exact same for all characters. The CPU opponents are even less capable of keeping up with the new phrase mechanics and expanded vocabulary. The art style has more details but became less appealing. Oh... Sir! The Hollywood Roast is a simple game that can definitely be a blast... However, in 2026, the average players usually sits around 2, much like its predecessor, with nobody even playing in online lobbies. This makes achieving 100% achievements almost impossible without friends assisting you. It's only really enjoyable early on and if playing singleplayer, or trying to unlock all characters which, in 2026, is completely impossible without going back to older versions in order to unlock Nosferateen (a tedious process). Rating: 4.8/10
