Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 4: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's all about the villains
This was originally a gacha mobile game that has been ported to console/PC release, and a blind playthrough is LONG AF. The villains completely steal the show here with over the top, power hungry maniacs all trying to become the one true ruler. They’re memorable, dramatic, and honestly more interesting than most of the heroes. This game is also NOT afraid to kill off major characters, including playable ones, which makes the story feel like the stakes actually matter. That said, I honestly find this way more engaging than Octopath 2’s fragmented “8 separate stories” structure. Octopath 0 feels like one actual adventure instead of eight disconnected ones stitched together. The soundtrack is excellent, the voice acting is surprisingly solid, and the town-building mechanic is way more rewarding than I expected if you actually invest time into it. While some plot points are predictable, there are also plenty of shocking twists that genuinely caught me off guard. The game dives into some very dark, mature themes and storylines that might piss some people off, but I respect that the writers were willing to take risks instead of playing everything safe. You create your own silent protagonist, pick a starting class, and build a party of 8 from around 35-40 recruitable companions. The combat system is where the game really shines. Mixing skills, experimenting with classes, setting tanks in the front row and healers/support in the back will test your strategic thinking when facing unfamiliar, difficult enemy encounters. There’s tons of room to customize your strategy and build a team that fits your playstyle. There is some kind of audio bug where everything is insanely loud, especially with headphones, so definitely lower the music and voice settings early on. The only thing really missing compared to Octopath 2 is the graphical polish, but if gameplay, music, and story matter more to you than graphics, it’s easy to overlook. I honestly hope Octopath 3 takes more inspiration from this game’s villain-focused storytelling.
It's Octopath, it's peak as always, I love it

Walk with the flame
Highly recommended for people who are starting out with the series. Might be one of the longest main campaigns Ive ever played. An extremely solid addition to the series. Some chapters were cliche but as always the combat is very very good. Might be probably the best in the series. The final fight felt goofy without spoiling. This ranks between 2 and 1 as Octopath Traveler 2 might be one of the best JRPGS to come out in recent memory
