About
Nuclear Option is a combat flight game set on a dynamic and realistic battlefield of the near future. Use an array of advanced weapons to change the course of battles as you intercept bombers, duel fighters, fly under the radar, or unleash the fury of nuclear weapons on enemy formations.
Each aircraft comes with an immersive cockpit featuring a situational awareness HUD, identifying nearby targets and threats. Aircraft can be flown with various controllers or with a mouse-controlled "virtual joystick", requiring no special hardware.
Experience realistic flight dynamics, with stalls, spins and g-force effects fully implemented, as each aircraft is composed of up to 50 individually simulated physics parts . A highly detailed damage model means that the condition of each part affects the way your aircraft flies.
Build your own missions using the included mission editor, and then fly your mission solo or with friends in PVP or PVE multiplayer combat.

I would willingly pay $60 for this
It really sucks to have to not recommend this game because it is absolutely amazing after the short playtime I have. Positives - The combat flows very, very seamlessly and is an amazing mix of realism that takes away just enough elements from an actual plane's weapons system to not make it horrifyingly complicated to learn and play through. - The game's current selection of vehicles is very robust and thoughtful. There’s a plane or helicopter for almost every situation you can get into, there’s specialised aircraft for dogfighting, support, stealth, bombing, tactical deployment and for generalisation on all of that. - The current missions you can go through are rather short but still offer a decent experience and prepare you fairly well for the larger PvP/PvE Co-op battlegrounds that you can fly in. The main reason for my negative review, however, is that the game in its current state does not have a very good enemy targeting system, which makes it incredibly difficult to play with a flight stick. You are basically forced into playing with the mouse's virtual joystick (not even full mouse controls similar to War Thunder and the like), which is a horrible experience for me personally. I'd recommend adding some kind of target selection bindings that allow you to cycle through target groups (ground, air, anti-air, buildings, MBT, radar sites, etc) and lock your plane to targeting just those or add some kind of movement control like war thunder to allow for better and easier mouse flight. (for reference, while in the cockpit, the game allows you to hold the M2 in mouse flight mode to quickly look around and select targets via looking at them and pressing a button. In joystick mode, you either have to use the mouse to look around or use your joystick hat, and your view doesn't snap back to the front of the aircraft like in virtual joystick mode with the mouse either)

Major thumbs up
An excellent simcade.
Rare to see such a well made game for a reasonable price, with a development team as good as this. Truly awe-inspiring
Amazing flying, fun to play, continuous updates with new planes and content, and unique missions.
honestly, only game that lets you drop 250kt of explosives on civilians. i love it.
Discovered the furball mission. Became my life's goal for about 13 hours. I beat it when i turned on Flower Man. Deltarune Soundtrack helps with anything.
Jammers making the game unplayable. Cannot even leave my hangar without being jammed and being unable to play anyways. On top of AI planes dodging stuff I physically can't because for whatever reason they know it's launched 20 miles out. And I only get notified when it's 6 kilometers away, moving at mach 4, and impacting me less than two seconds later. AI is too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken.
Easy to get in to - compared to DCS. The Tutorials aren't really enough (for example, there's none for Helos), but again, coming from DCS, it's all rather easy to get in to. After 2 hours I've already had successful sorties in PVP Servers destroying Radar Stations and Dropping my own SAM Sites near the Front. This game is great. Get it (if you like flying and want to have fun quicker), we need more of these fun semi-sims.
