About
NTE is a supernatural open-world RPG developed by Hotta Studio. The story begins in the city of Hethereau, where you play as its first "unlicensed" Anomaly Hunter. You'll join the crew at Eibon, a rundown antique shop that keeps the lights on by taking Anomaly commissions from anyone willing to pay. Alongside a diverse cast of extraordinary companions, you'll unravel urban mysteries, ride out adventures full of laughs and heartbreak, and write your own stories in the neon-lit streets.
Welcome to the first stop in your appraisal career—Hethereau, a sprawling and vibrant metropolis!
In the crowded halls of the Bureau of Anomaly Control, hopeful Oddities queue up for resident permits, while over at the train station, an Esper commuter snaps his fingers to clean his work suit on the fly. Down one block, a chaotic chase after Danzaburou is spiraling out of control; while across the street, a vacationing silver-gloved Butler is shooting the breeze with the owner of a second-hand electronics shop. Everywhere you look, there's no shortage of intriguingly "abnormal" scenes.
Want to dive deeper into a world where humans and the supernatural coexist? Start your journey in Hethereau to see it for yourself. The lively and quirky daily life here is a grand adventure in itself.

Honestly, most Steam reviews are pretty much useless, so let me actually explain why this gacha game is worth checking out. Why it's worth playing: Let's start with the pull system — there's no sneaky 50/50 on limited banners here. The guaranteed character arrives at the 90th pull at the latest, and soft pity kicks in starting from pull 70, though in practice most people end up pulling their target character around the 50th pull or so. As for generosity — this game takes it seriously. Even playing free-to-play, you can realistically stockpile enough resources to get every character's premium weapon, just by buying the relevant currency from the shop each month. Character pull currency is handed out pretty generously too. The game world doesn't feel dead — characters you've already met keep showing up again, so the world feels alive rather than empty. The bond system is reminiscent of Persona's rank 1-10 relationship mechanics (romance included) — not as in-depth, but fans of the series should enjoy it. The gameplay itself is easy to sum up: an anime version of GTA with hack-and-slash elements. Production quality holds up well too — nothing feels half-baked, unlike P5X, which felt undercooked in comparison. On top of that, the studio keeps testing new modes and gathering feedback through surveys to figure out what players actually want. Controller support is also solid almost all the time. What needs work: Once you've 100%'d the map, there's not much reason to go back — though that's a common issue across this type of game, a few more random events wouldn't hurt. Where controller support really falls apart is anything aim-related. You're better off switching to mouse for that. The character bond system feels a bit underdeveloped — it lacks depth, and some characters are missing rewards or skins (possibly to be added later for story reasons). Co-op mode is still pretty weak and clearly needs more work. The story in the first two chapters is fairly weak — though that's basically standard for the genre. It picks up afterward, even if the pacing occasionally feels uneven. Overall: the game comes across as high-quality and generous. Right now the goal is simple — pull for whoever you like, since there's no sign yet of any character being clearly overpowered or outclassing the others.
