Not Quite Dead: Open World Survival is an ambitious survival sandbox that combines zombie combat, scavenging, exploration, crafting, construction, transportation, and cooperative play within a large post-apocalyptic environment. Developed and published by Voidecho Studio, it is designed around freedom rather than a heavily scripted campaign. The main attraction is the familiar but satisfying cycle of leaving safety behind, searching dangerous locations for useful supplies, returning with whatever you can carry, and gradually improving your ability to survive increasingly hazardous expeditions. Exploration forms an important part of the experience. The world includes abandoned settlements, forests, industrial locations, bunkers, hidden areas, and regions where valuable resources are accompanied by considerably greater danger. This gives traveling a practical purpose instead of making the map feel like scenery between objectives. Moving into a threatening area can provide better equipment and supplies, but doing so without sufficient ammunition, medicine, protective gear, or transportation can quickly turn an otherwise successful scavenging trip into a desperate fight for survival. Progression places significant emphasis on preparation and equipment. Rather than simply relying on conventional character levels to determine where the player belongs, the game encourages survivors to improve their circumstances through better weapons, accumulated resources, crafted equipment, and knowledge of the environment. Food, medicine, ammunition, fuel, and other useful materials therefore remain important components of the survival loop. Traders and quests add additional reasons to interact with the wider world, while gathering and harvesting provide alternative ways to obtain materials needed for continued development. Base building gives collected resources a meaningful long-term destination. Establishing a secure location allows players to store supplies, construct useful facilities, craft equipment, and prepare for future journeys. There is a satisfying sense of advancement in returning from a dangerous expedition with materials that directly improve the player's home and capabilities. Construction also creates a useful contrast with exploration: venturing outside is unpredictable and dangerous, while returning to a developing base provides a temporary feeling of security and accomplishment. Vehicles considerably increase the possibilities for exploration. Repairing and using transportation makes it easier to travel between distant locations, carry supplies, and undertake expeditions that would otherwise require considerable time on foot. Fuel management prevents vehicles from becoming an unlimited shortcut, encouraging players to think about when transportation is actually worth using. The presence of different transportation methods, including options beyond ordinary land vehicles, gives the large environment additional potential for adventurous long-distance journeys. Combat revolves primarily around surviving infected creatures, but the opposition becomes more dangerous as players push into higher-risk territory. Stronger enemies make valuable areas something that must be approached carefully rather than casually looted. Human bandits broaden the threat beyond zombies, while radiation introduces an environmental hazard requiring appropriate preparation. This combination gives equipment choices additional importance because the ideal supplies for an ordinary scavenging trip may not be enough when exploring contaminated or heavily defended areas. Online cooperative play is particularly well suited to the game's structure. A group can gather resources, build together, organize transportation, and support one another during dangerous expeditions. Cooperative survival also makes resource planning more interesting because equipment and responsibilities can be divided among multiple people. Those who prefer a quieter and more isolated experience are not forced into multiplayer, however, as the survival systems can also be approached alone. One of the more appealing aspects of the design is its attempt to connect numerous survival mechanics instead of focusing exclusively on combat. Crafting supports preparation, scavenging supplies crafting, vehicles extend exploration, exploration provides better equipment, and better equipment allows players to tackle more dangerous locations. When these elements work together, the game produces the gradual sense of advancement that makes survival sandboxes compelling. There is always another reason to leave the security of the base, whether that means searching for ammunition, acquiring building resources, discovering equipment, completing a quest, or simply investigating an unexplored location. The main reservation is that this remains an Early Access game. Although its central survival loop and explorable world provide a substantial foundation, various systems are expected to become deeper during development. Plans for additional character customization, weapon modifications, skills, human NPCs, equipment, crafting possibilities, environments, and dynamic encounters could make the finished experience significantly richer. Events involving bosses, convoys, or supply drops could be particularly useful for making the open world feel less predictable. Until those elements are fully implemented and refined, players should expect rough edges, balancing changes, incomplete features, and other characteristics normally associated with an evolving Early Access project. Steam Deck compatibility is currently not officially rated by Valve on the Steam store listing, so the game should be considered unverified for Steam Deck rather than officially Verified or Playable. That does not automatically mean it cannot run on the handheld, but players should not assume a completely optimized experience. Controller behavior, interface readability, performance, multiplayer functionality, and other compatibility factors may require further testing or adjustment, especially while development continues. Taken as it currently stands, Not Quite Dead: Open World Survival offers a promising framework for players attracted to open-ended zombie survival. Its mixture of scavenging, construction, resource management, vehicles, dangerous zones, crafting, quests, combat, and cooperative exploration creates plenty of opportunities for emergent adventures. The scope is impressive, though its eventual quality will depend heavily on how successfully the existing mechanics are polished and how much meaningful variety is added throughout Early Access. For players comfortable joining an unfinished project and watching it develop, there is already an interesting survival sandbox taking shape here. Rating: 7/10

game update and i need manually delete my save in order to p lay the updated version ????? WTF are we in 2000 again ? game has future but for some reason i dont see it
Interesting game and really fun in co-op. It gets a bit boring once you've collected most of the gear, though. I would've preferred more normal zombies instead of the glowing ones, and honestly, those absurd monster trucks don't really fit the game for me. More building options would also be great. It's still early, so there's plenty of room to improve, but overall it's a good start and definitely worth keeping an eye on.
just started so cant say neither bad or good liked the relaxing music, tutorial seemed ok , should add more inntuitive explnination on the chopper i was to tard to figure it out :D will update when i play more add an thumbs up bec i cant choose middle atm
