Northern Journey

Overall a very nice little adventure The largest problem with the game is the combat. It's bad enough that I almost quit trying to fight a certain gangly enemy that infinitely spawns more gangly enemies, which followed the almost equally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ artillery section immediately before it. Everything is just flying around the screen like crazy, but I've been given all these slow, cumbersome weapons that feel like they were designed for a different pace of combat. The other notable downside for me is a few graphics issues. The biggest one is haloing/ghosting around certain objects. I'm not sure where it's coming from, and it really took me out of an otherwise stark and straightforward artstyle that I really liked. It's an unfortunate distraction, and I don't think this is a DLSS-esque situation where it's unavoidable. But other than that, the game nails pretty much everything else. Just the whole atmosphere of adventure. I was especially a fan of the variety in some of the setpieces. I'd still recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind save scumming their way through maybe an hour or so of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in a 12 hour experience.
