No controller support despite being advertised, level SFX starts at half volume unless you manually restart each one after they're loaded, incredibly basic cutscenes and user interface fonts, the main gimmick of restoring color to the world felt tedious and sometimes awkward, etc etc. Under most circumstances I'm willing to look past technical issues (especially for indie developers) but Newt One sadly has practically nothing going for it from beginning to end that makes up for it. You control Newt and your simple goal is to reach each level exit. Overtime you'll collect wands for each world that automatically restores color to anything that the player gets close enough to. While wands make the game even easier it does minimize the aforementioned tedium and inconvenient colorable level geometry. The game is incredibly casual lacking any enemies and "death" having no impact on your level progress. Surprisingly the game has optional objectives to go for (medals) but doesn't have achievement support. Newt One's overall easy difficulty make these very simple to achieve if you want to spend a bit more time but this in turn makes them fairly boring and hollow to attain. The appealing visual design and soundtrack with layered music are enjoyable but it's complete lack of a more diverse moveset, assets + level objectives constantly being recycled, and missing polish makes the experience feel a lot more mind-numbing than interesting. It's a good game for young children but I don't think many people older than that will find much enjoyment in this otherwise. To put it bluntly, there are much better games in this genre that I find far more captivating.

Its a rather cozy, relaxing, non-violent (no combat / enemies) musical 3d platformer collectathon. I got it because it reminded me of the N64 platformers, with the overworld serving as a hub to the other levels, plus the low-poly graphic style is one of my favorites, and it didn't disappoint. It has a nice twist on the collectathon genre - you don't need to gather thousands of items scattered all over the world, instead, every single element, be it an animal, plant or even the ground itself, is gray and lifeless. Then, when you bump into them or use your abilities near them, they recover their vibrant colors and play a small musical tune, which compliments quite nicely the dynamic background music, making it sound even better. The only bug I ran into, is that one of the owls in one of the levels didnt visually change color, but still counted successfully for the ingame completion % anyways. On the negative side, controller support doesn't work, and the movement is quite slippery, this makes some of the jumps in later levels much harder than they should be, which can obviously add some frustration, specially since the entire game consists of floating islands and the small bridges connecting them. Still, despite the controls, I can easily recommend it.
Really cute little game! I had a lot of fun with it. The visuals and little outfits were really cute, and the platforming and item-finding was simple but satisfying. I enjoyed the wands as a mechanic, because the touch-to-activate tiles probably would've gotten tedious eventually, and the wands helped greatly with that. The controls do feel a little floaty which made me less inclined to try for "perfect" levels where you don't fall, because if I had I feel like it would've gotten frustrating. I also got stuck on the level geometry a couple times, so I wish there was an unstuck button rather than having to restart the level, but this didn't happen to me more than twice. I also wish I could've changed between all the worlds' outfits in the hub world! They're so cute, especially the glacier level outfits. Overall, I enjoyed the game! It was a good, roughly four-hour experience (without trying for 100% perfect levels).
Good puzzles Con: Doesn't have controller support Eff that parrot level!!!! LMAO It's hard!!
Przypomina trochę stare gry z płatków śniadaniowych. Takich z dodatkiem LSD.
Unless you are below the age of nine or need help with the concept of colors, this probably isn't the game for you. I've only played nineteen minutes though, maybe it turns into a rich, intense multi-layered gaming experience after level 5 EDIT: It does not

浪费时间,跟大学生毕设一样
不像2019年的遊戲,操作手感真的很差,玩起來蠻痛苦的平台跳躍動作遊戲,裡面最大優點大概是BGM好聽。
