About

In News Tower, dive into the chaos of 1930s New York in a management tycoon game where you build and manage your own newspaper.
From the Great Depression to the brink of World War II every Sunday brings a new deadline, and every article is a strategic decision. Between editorial dilemmas, newsroom breakdowns, and political pressure, you’ll shape the future of your newspaper to start your media empire!

Start with a blank floor and shape your newsroom from the ground up. As your newspaper grows, unlock new levels and transform each one into a fully functional hub of journalism. From printing stations and compositing desks to the legal corner for damage control, every workstation is key to keep the presses running.
Smart layout choices: walls, elevators, pneumatic tubes directly impact how efficiently your team works under pressure. And because morale matters too, add coffee machines, posters, and the essential indoor green plant to ensure your employees’ well-being!

Reporters, photographers and janitors without forgetting the unexpendable ads salesperson… Lead a diverse team across 30+ unique job roles each with their own traits, needs, and expertise.
Juggle hunger, focus and logistics to maximize productivity. Unlock dozens of upgrades from gramophone to slot machines, to turn your dingy tower into a prestigious workspace. A happy newsroom is a productive newsroom, especially when Sunday is always just around the corner.

Each week begins with one goal: getting your edition ready for Sunday’s deadline. Assign leads to your reporters, choose your editorial approach, influence public perception through your chosen tone and tags, and compose your newspaper.
Cover key topics like Crime, Politics, or Sports, and refine your story’s angle to match your editorial line. Well-researched articles or eye-grabbing headlines, will you aim for respect or reach?
Every choice impacts your readers’ perception, reactions, and sales. Nail the mix and profits soar or miss the mark and you risk backlash, lawsuits, or courtesy visits from the mob...

Four major factions partake in the city’s power struggle: the Mayor, the Mafia, the Military (in 1.0), and High Society. They’ll push their own agendas and offer shady deals in exchange for cash, influence, exclusive rewards, and vital new connections across the Big Apple. Whose truth will you print, and whose secrets will you bury?
Not everyone is in favor of freedom of the press…

Publish your newspaper across NYC districts, from Harlem to Wall Street. Each borough has its own reader profiles, preferences, and rewards. To grow your subscriber base, tailor stories to local tastes while staying ahead of two aggressive rivals: the Empire Observer and Jersey Beacon. They’ll steal your precious scoops but by targeting the right interests, you can win their audiences and become New York’s most influential publisher.

Really fun tycoon game with an interesting concept! Gameplay-wise, it's very simple to understand and takes a bit of tinkering to master. It can get frustrating at times with the risk-events or when you can't seem to find the news category you need, but it's nothing of the game's fault. The progression is smooth enough as you unlock more of the map and the game at times urges you towards certain unlockable mechanics. My only critique is that the reputation system with the factions locks you out of their opposite entirely. I would appreciate if we could progress to a certain degree with all factions, although I get the reason why it is the way it is. Other than that the other aspects of the game is amazing. Visuals are great and the music is very catchy. I find myself zooming into the little animations that happen in your tower or idly listening to the background music. It's a good game that you can either play for hours on end or something that you continually pick up once in a while.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Just noticed I've played this for 23 hrs but haven't reviewed it?? Anyway, GREAT management game and surprisingly addictive. It has that "just one more turn" compulsion, but instead of turns it's "just one more week/one more paper". I decided I wanted to get in with the mafia, given that I was running my paper in 1930's NYC, which made the mayor hate me but that's ok. I can publish a little mafia propaganda as a treat.
the game is good, but saving is bad, sometimes you would save a game, and it will start from few days before. all changes gets lost, whatever you did have to do again. game keep crashing once you go higher its frustrating to play .overall OK but repetetive and annoying because its sometimes too easy and it will still require game barrier of completing task which you can easily club. overall a 4/10
Exactly what it looks like, and if that's your thing, it's a must buy.
I was obsessed with this game for more than a week! I usually review games after finishing it, but it has been a while, and I just finished it and it was so good, I had to take some time off. I played this game so much I was even dreaming about it, and had to wake up to fix the layout of my building. And that's just the first round of playing. I haven't even done the other news towers with different layouts. I wanted the perfect tower before I started a new game with a different layout. There isn't much of this game I dislike, so it's hard to point out, but there are certain things that you think it's an upgrade (e.g. elevator) and it's not? But it *can* be if you fit it right. I was thinking, there's no way an elevator makes my reporters take longer, and I kept playing for daaaays to get it sorted and get it right and into a layout that finally makes sense. The game also took me like... a few days in the start to understand and get used to. It's one thing to deal with the layout, it's another to deal with the news part (sending out the right reporters, etc). And every time I discover a new thing (a new type of reporter / a new desk type etc), I had to rework my building all over again. And this was on my first run. I'd spend half the day jsut fixing my layout and suddenly there's a new desk! Aaaa (but in a good way). It keeps the game fresh, it keeps it interesting at every turn. Day after day, I'm finding new things to 'deal with'. Until finally after 2-3 weeks (even I don't remember anymore), I finally got it right. I finally understand how to arrange my newspaper layouts my building layout, my worker layout, etc. For the price I paid and how much I spent time on it, this game was worth every cent trying to figure out. It's also a rare game where I have to focus and watch how the people get to their workstations, so I can sense where the jam may be or where the issue may be. It's not a game I can put an interesting TV show in the background and play. Thankfully it was World Cup season and playing this while watching the WC at 3am and 5am, was a really fun experience (your game made me miss a few goals omg). I do have to say, the game isn't very intuitive and 'easy'. There's a lot to read, a lot to test out, a lot to jig and re-jig until you finally get it right and understand how certain things work. Even on my last day of playing this game, I was still figuring things out. I have to say, it took me about 5 days to finally get 1) faction happy and 2) all the district goals done in one go. I had to play them separately to get them done initially which is why i think the game took me so long to get used to. I do feel like the main campaign of the game felt short. 1 in-game year? It took me 5 in-game years to get it right LOL. It took me so long (because I ultimately fail to 'get it' in 1 in-game year) that I swear by the time I was done, the digital age has arrived HAHA. I'm finally going to start my second run (after taking a 2-week break playing Hozy LOL) on a different layout and also I want to try appeasing different factions. Safe to say, I don't think I'll be done in 1 in-game year again. Though, I believe you can, if you get it quick, and appease your chosen factions in that 1 year, and forgo taking forever to build your layout once you have a well-oiled machine. But I'm not going to do that. I like taking my time. This game is not for those who want something easy to understand, trust me. I was initially frustrated but then I pushed through the tough areas, and then it was fine. The tutorial lady wasn't very helpful honestly. She'll tell you the basics but the rest you had to figure out. And I'd also like it if the new stuff (furniture/desks/etc) told you how much space it'll take so I can prep that floor better lol. But that would make it easy. I was pulling my hair out after unlocking a new desk with new furniture lol. But hey, that's the fun of it, right? Or maybe I'm just a masochist. Overall, great game. Has longevity in it. Would love a DLC or update with a new part of the world. I'm Asian, so it'll be nice to get some Asian parts in it. Would totally love the Mafia being a Yakuza/Triad instead lol. I hope the developers keep doing something new with it because it has so much to give to its players (like me) who get obsessed with things. P.S: Reading other reviews made me surprised that there are people who bankrupted their tower. I never took out loans until later in the game (after the first year was done and I wanted to see what it was like). Then again, I'm a scaredy cat about owing money (Asian dad and all that). But wow! I love other player's experiences in their review. This is just how crazy the game is that different people (depending on how they play it) have waaaay different experiences!
