Played the game after finishing Unavowed. The latter was a fantastic game with a somewhat dark and serious atmosphere, in contrast to which The Fowl Fleet was a hilariously light-hearted adventure. The tasks felt mostly straightforward, but were indeed challenging at times. Didn't need to check any walkthrough videos though. If I were ever really stuck, Sebastian (your helper) always came through nicely. I loved all the puns and silliness. Definitely recommend.
The puzzles are reasonably challenging and you can always ask Sebastian if you're lost. The puzzles are not so much a minigames as "find something and use it in the right place," although there are a few minigame-type. The dialogue is so fun that I actually enjoyed going around to talk to everyone (as opposed to just doing so to make sure I didn't miss anything)! The game is very family-friendly, and although there is some wordplay that might go over kids' heads there's nothing raunchy or really violent. This was basically an instabuy for me when I learned that ABK wrote the game, and his dry wit and love of wordplay shows in the characters and dialogue! I think this is a charming, relaxing, and silly puzzle game for a logic-puzzler of any age!

This is a fun little point'n'click game with pretty graphics and a lot of funny moments. The only things I didn't like are the length (I was able to finish it in less than 6 hours) and the rather underwhelming finale.
ABK delivers a great point & click! I recommend playing with your kids from 9 yo... also with voice and text in German :)
The puns are awful(ly good) and the puzzles are head-scratchingly interesting.
I was quite fun. The voice acting was great. The puzzles weren't too hard and the nod to classic point and click games were quite enjoyable.

It's a no-brainer to give Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet a hearty thumbs up, but I suppose if you want a some-brainer, it's a smartly written UK comedy disguised as an adventure game about an aspiring pirate, amidst the backdrop of impending birdpocalypse. The gameplay itself is often just a flimsy substrate to get to the quippy dialogue and quirky characters--which makes me inclined to feel both more forgiveness and more annoyance when the game falls prey to the most common adventure game mishap in the world: the point where you're stuck walking back and forth, clicking everything, with zero idea which inventory object needs to be used on which environmental object (or character) to solve an obstacle. I found myself in that position several times over the course of an otherwise short Fowl Fleet run-through. Sometimes, getting the "wrong" answer yields another funny piece of dialogue to soften the blow, but just as often I found myself stumped and getting generic "Well, that won't work!" style lines that slowed the pace considerably. In general, I'm over this style of gameplay. It felt novel in the early 2000s, but now it feels dated as a mechanism for interactive story delivery. So, it should be a testament to the hilarious writing that I still highly recommend this game to anyone with an absurd sense of humor. I often play entire games without taking a single screenshot. But with The Fowl Fleet? I took dozens of screenshots simply because I was consistently giggling at silly dialogue and wanted to share bits with my friends and save them for myself. I wasn't surprised in the least to learn the main dev is also a stand-up comic; you can't just wake up one day and develop this kind of flair for creating funny characters. I mean, maybe you can if you have some kind of comedy-based dissociative fugue. I'm not the expert here, I just liked the game.
Das kann man sich für nen 5er mal geben. Das Spiel ist extrem leicht und an einem Nachmittag durch. Die haben da eine komplett beknackte Version von Dr Bibber eingebaut, die zu einem Wutanfall führte. Herzlichen Dank.
