This is just french jank of a Borderlands game with a Warhammer 40K coating. “Rough” is the only word that comes up to my mind especially around the beginning, it has some very scuffed animations, “interesting” choice of voice casting, inventory management that has been easily surpassed by 20+ year old games, convoluted map design and I wanted to bail out of playing this in the first two hours. Decided to continue playing it for a couple of more missions, because the set pieces looked great and then it clicked. Necromunda: Hired Gun is not a hidden gem, but some acquired taste, where people look estranged at you for liking something vile as if you’re drinking yellow absinthe and despite it being disgusting you keep going. Once you figure out that there is a character perk that eventually doubles your pay for side mission, you get some fat stacks of credits, buy every other perk and progression option, try every weapon and it’s upgrade path and equip all consumables there are and start blasting with a bunch of weapons, lots of movement abilities that even rival Cyberpunk 2077’s equivalent cybernetics options and other abilities that eventually one tap every non-boss enemy. Don’t get me wrong, there is some BS going on with some spammed enemies even on standard difficulty being very spongy and are just plain dps checks especially bosses, but the game supplies you with a lot of options to handle these odds. I finished the main campaign after around 10 hours and want more, but a french man bestows you only with so much jank. Get this game ONLY on a good sale, have some patience and it does show more charm than a bunch of triple Aids games from the past years.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Disappointing low-impact jank. Broadly very pretty with a great soundtrack, but dog-awful AI and bad maps for the janky movement. Enemies just run (more like glide) and shoot at you blindly far across the field (funnels, mostly) with no real reaction to what should be withering gunfire in return. All-too-common shields soon take the fun out of aimed hits and feel like an ill fit for the dirty underbelly theme. Attempted mobility and verticality are rewarded much like a piñata is rewarded - with a batting, maybe a bad fall. Since the violence seems to have little impact physically or mentally, combat sort of "just happens" as you take in the nice scenery and hover-hop towards the objective marker. Design choices like instant-revive stims and objective markers feel like crutches for shortcomings in gameplay. The plot and characters aren't saving the game either: the voice acting is excellent overall, but the audio mixing is still so terrible in 2026 that you sometimes can't hear the NPCs talk. In combat, voice lines are often stuck on repeat. To top things off, the character animations, especially faces, are stiff and bland across the board, the passionless finishers frequently glitching out, driving home the point that you're playing a game made by fans of many superior titles with not enough resources to match their quality. This should have been a twin-stick shooter maybe, or an RPG like Rogue Trader. Not recommended. Paid €5 on Humble and still I wish I could refund.
EYE Divine Cybermancy IS the father. 4/5
I picked this game up for 6 bucks and even then I still think this game is not worth the money. The game is short only taking me about 8.5 hours to beat. Its not challenging in the slightest if you know how a mouse works. The story is boring, the animations are janky. While there was a lot of guns to choose from I really only used 2 or 3 of them reliably throughout the game. Even the wall running gamic is underutilized because the level design never gives you proper walls to use it on. Don't buy this game unless your really bored its the text book definition of a 6/10 game Does nothing right but also isn't fully insulting to play.
sucks lol
It's just really badly designed, from gameplay to UI.
I started playing this immediately after beating Space Hulk: Deathwing (which was a great game) and I really wanted to like this game, especially since they were made by the same developer... but the janky controls, buggy gameplay and poor optimization killed it for me. I have a 7800X3D with a 7900XTX so I know my system isn't under powered.
