About
Nations is a real time strategy game focused on ruling a country through the history. The game provides a range of mechanics, such as economy, industry, society and wide lawmaking. You decide whether you focus on internal development of your state, or expending its territories – or maybe both of these things simultaneously.
You must provide your people with food, consumer goods, and a sense of safety, otherwise your state shall begin to collapse. Remember, that one destructive factor may cause another. Establish laws, construct buildings and manage resources in order to maintain your country stable and prosperous. Build up your military and expand to gain influence – but be careful who you attack. Some nations may be stronger than they seem. Some of them may be danger to you – conduct diplomacy and make alliances to secure your borders. Send your agents and organize covert actions to sabotage development of your enemy, or build up influence in their land. You embrace your goals and you decide how to achieve them.
The game is in early access, which means that new mechanics will be added, and some of already existing will be expanded. It is very flexible and meant to be modder friendly. Right now you can create your own nations, cultures and scenarios using simple text and graphic editors. In future support for modders is going to be expanded and an official, easy to use editor is to be added.

This game is extremely unique and fun, with many scenarios, and being able to draw borders basically to whatever. Being said the only bad things I've encountered playing this game is there are semi-frequent crashes while loading saves and the systems with puppets or other vassal types are a little annoying to deal with. Overall this game is very good and I would love to see it updated and continue playing. Edit: Vassals are a lot easier to deal with but the army mechanics are very annoying to deal with majority of the time.
Unique grand strategy game. The systems here are realistic-ish and well thought-out. If you want to try something new, have some money to spare and don't mind early access, I encourage you to try Nations. Here are my suggestions for the dev: - Add ability to play as any of the nations in the save (very important I think). I tried to open the save file to see if I can change the player nation that way but I couldn't find a way. - Add live news / history log (at the right side of the screen maybe), with settings for showing only the most important diplomatic happenings or show also minor ones. That would be awesome, but also just standard for these types of games. - Observer mode. Right now, my workaround is to add an observer nation. - Make AI keep their ideology, political system and territorial system for a longer amount of time (important for immersion). Or, add a setting for how often AI will change their ideology, political system and territorial system. - Make AI nations proactively form positive relations with same ideology / political system nations and less trusting of different ideology / political system nations. I'm not sure if that's already in the game because the AI's diplomatic decisions look random. - Add scripted events that take place on specific date, most importantly tensions and wars. - Add ability to set up diplomatic relations (including tensions and wars) to the start of the game inside the scenario editor. - Add options for lending military support to foreign nation armies or foreign rebels instead of deploying your own divisions. - Make AI nations have dynamic historical / strategic territorial aspirations and dynamic colonial aspirations. They should want to expand fast when there's a huge amount of uncontrolled land. - Work on historical regions. There are too few historical regions in the peripheral places, which makes armies move through them very quickly and it's less interesting. I'm currently working around that by adding my own historical regions image that I made using GIMP automation. - Work on default military regions (or the ability to mod military regions?). Every time I try to upload my own image the game crashes and I don't know why... I just want the default military regions to match the historical regions. - Add simple moddable leader and political faction system. Maybe eventually elections, succession systems and moddable dynamic portraits. - Work on the vanilla scenarios. There are inaccuracies and are rather barebones. - Fix typos. - Add natural disasters that reduce a large number of a population and come up as news. - Add randomized world feature, even if it's a gamemode where you and AI somewhere somewhere the map with a tiny controlled area and end up colonizing the world (populated with randomized cultures) and then eventually breaking off into many nations. That would be incredible.
Cool game for cool people :D
Andorra beat Spain 10/10
I have no idea why this game has positive reviews. Multiple runs have resulted in the game bugging out with constant crashes. All of my save games have been bricked after about 30 minutes of gameplay. You can't load them and have to start all over. It's one thing to be early access with missing features. Issues that prevent you from playing it are unacceptable. Charging money for this broken mess is crazy to me. 10/10 game.
Прикольно. можно инвестициями аннексировать страну
It's a simple game, there is a lot of stuff to be developed and specially fixed, but at the current state it is at right now and with the fact that it's still in demo it's a pretty good game. Currently, as of the writting of this review, I would say its a good purchase if you buy it during a sale.
I love this game! I have always dreamed of a strategy game where you can just go wild and draw your own borders, and this is it. Thank you! My advice would be to add a steam workshop for scenarios.
Cool though playing as nations in the past but the game is very buggy for me. It kept crashing while im at war. I'm hoping for this game to get less buggy in the future in which will, with the game labeled "EARLY ACCESS".
