I thought this was the second in the dossier series ha-ha. I just beat it. The story-line is fascinating! The puzzles are titillating. I wish this series went on longer. Should definitely bring back the dossier series! 10/10

Nancy Drew Dossier: Lights, Camera, Curses! takes the familiar detective formula of the long-running Nancy Drew franchise and reimagines it as a hidden object adventure that is both approachable and entertaining. Instead of following the traditional first-person exploration found in the main series, this spin-off emphasizes accessible gameplay while retaining the investigative spirit that fans expect. The result is a mystery that can be enjoyed by both dedicated followers of Nancy Drew and newcomers looking for a casual yet engaging detective experience. The story unfolds on the set of a Hollywood remake of the classic film Pharaoh!, a production plagued by unexplained accidents, strange sabotage, and rumors surrounding a decades-old curse. Nancy Drew is brought in to uncover the truth behind the chaos before the movie is forced to shut down. The narrative effectively blends glamorous filmmaking with suspense, gradually revealing secrets hidden beneath the studio lights. While the supernatural legends surrounding the production create an eerie atmosphere, the game encourages players to rely on logic and careful observation, staying true to Nancy's role as a clever investigator who separates facts from fear. Most of the gameplay revolves around hidden object scenes that are integrated into the investigation rather than existing as isolated challenges. Every location contains clues that help advance the mystery, making each search feel purposeful instead of repetitive. The environments are detailed enough to reward attentive players, and the progression keeps the investigation moving at a steady pace. Rather than relying solely on object hunting, the game introduces numerous interactive puzzles that add welcome variety throughout the adventure. The assortment of mini-games is one of the title's strongest features. Players crack locks, decipher secret messages, prepare refreshments for cast members, capture loose animals, and complete several other tasks connected to the film set. These activities break up the hidden object gameplay and make each chapter feel fresh. Optional objectives also reward thorough exploration by unlocking bonus points that contribute toward an alternate conclusion, giving completionists an incentive to revisit scenes and improve their performance. Visually, the game captures the excitement of a movie production while maintaining the mysterious tone surrounding the investigation. Colorful film sets, elaborate props, costumes, and backstage areas create an appealing backdrop for Nancy's detective work. Although the graphics reflect the era in which the game was released, the artistic direction remains charming and expressive. The soundtrack complements the unfolding mystery with music that shifts naturally between moments of suspense, discovery, and lighthearted investigation, while the characters possess enough personality to keep conversations enjoyable despite the game's relatively compact scope. One of the game's greatest advantages is its accessibility. The simplified interface, clear objectives, and shorter overall structure make it easy to pick up and play without feeling overwhelmed. Players can make meaningful progress during brief sessions, making it an excellent choice for those who enjoy casual puzzle games or hidden object adventures. The streamlined design also serves as an inviting introduction to the Nancy Drew universe for players unfamiliar with the main adventure series. However, the simplified approach inevitably sacrifices some of the depth that longtime fans may expect. Compared to the traditional Nancy Drew adventures, exploration is more limited, character interactions are less extensive, and the puzzles generally present a lower level of difficulty. The mystery remains entertaining, but experienced adventure game enthusiasts may finish it relatively quickly and wish for a more intricate investigation with greater narrative complexity. Despite these compromises, Nancy Drew Dossier: Lights, Camera, Curses! succeeds in delivering exactly what it promises: an enjoyable detective adventure built around accessible hidden object gameplay and creative puzzle-solving. Its engaging Hollywood setting, well-paced mystery, diverse selection of mini-games, and satisfying progression keep the experience entertaining from beginning to end. While it may not replace the depth of the core Nancy Drew titles, it stands as a polished and enjoyable spin-off that successfully adapts the franchise for a broader audience. Nancy Drew Dossier: Lights, Camera, Curses! offers an engaging blend of hidden object gameplay, clever puzzles, and detective storytelling that remains fun throughout its relatively short runtime. Its approachable mechanics, memorable setting, and entertaining mystery make it a worthwhile experience for casual players and Nancy Drew fans alike, even if its streamlined design leaves some room for greater challenge and depth. Rating: 7/10
Quick, mindless puzzles that keep you busy for a couple of hours. Story is pretty fun, but the point and click gets repetitive and droning after a while. A different feel from the full length ND games, but it's nice to have the same voice actress.
To be honest, I did enjoy the game since it was a good way to just burn a few hours of playtime on stream. The story was a bit predictable at times, but I know that I should limit what I expect out of a game meant for a younger audience. I definitely believe that a younger player would get a good play through of the game. In a way, there is a bit of a replay value to the game for those who want to get the special ending since it can be a bit difficult to get the number of points necessary.
Such a fun cozy game! Beautiful artwork, a great music score, top-notch voice acting, and an immersive story make this a top-notch hidden object casual game. It's much shorter and different than other Nancy Drew games, but a great addition, and I only wish this series had lasted longer.
Generally it's a good game for younger audience and for those who doesn't seek 100% completion. It's easy, short (4-6h), colorful and with relatively good story. On the other hand, if you don't reach maximum detective level (I think around 300,000 points) you won't see a special ending. And you can't replay chapters to gain more points. You can't even restart a chapter if you've made a mistake (a small tip: you can back up current save file, and re-use it if a mistake was made). Mini games in story mode are OK, but in Arcade they become boring and tedious. "Smoothie making" arcade in higher levels sometimes doesn't register clicks, so an ingredient doesn't drop, which is realy annoying.
Very fun. Nancy is obsessed with snakes escaping. wonderful game
