Reviews

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Murders on the Yangtze River is an excellent mystery detective game that I strongly recommend. Where is the sequel?! Ace Attorney is a natural comparison. In short, if you like AA, playing this is a no-brainer. The writing quality and sense of progression is on par. The story is generally darker and has less humor. It feels deeply personal, yet tackles significant historical (early 20th century China) issues. The overarching plot builds up so much hype, and finishes strong. The crime solving itself is grounded; it relies on some coincidences, but doesn't feel as fantastical as Ace Attorney. The tips (facts/knowledge) were great for immersion and understanding historical context. The writers carefully point out when they took historical liberties (e.g., technologies needed to solve the case but didn't exist yet). Be aware: the game first defaults to Chinese. It's easy to change this yourself or you can look up instructions. Also, the DLC chapter has no English localization. I tried with Google Lens machine translation, but it doesn't seem to be tied to the main story, so I didn't worry about it too much since my method was tedious.
