Join private investigator Jack Pepper on a guns blazing, jazz-fueled adventure in MOUSE: P.I. For Hire. MOUSE combines the charm of hand-drawn rubber hose animation inspired by the classic cartoons of the 1930’s with the adrenaline and action of an explosive first person shooter.

I think this game is a little overrated. As a shooter it's just fine. There is nothing really special about it if you strip away the art style (which I really love) and after a while I kind of lost interest in continuing the campaign. Some parts seem also weird and unnecessary to me like the shop in your hood. Why should I buy ammo there? whats the point and having it just to get comic strips feels like they didnt't really know what to do here. I still think it's a fun game but maybe wait for a sale. It's just not as good as most of the positive reviews tell you. So in the end this is one of those games that for me needs to be judged from 2 different angles: If you really love the art style then this game will be enough but if you are looking for a great boomer shooter you will probably have to look elsewhere. I still recommend it just because it is kind of unique and I would love to see what the developers can do next.
From the get-go, Mouse P.I. is easily one of the most enjoyable games I've played in 2026. Some reasons: + Artistically rich, paying homage to the early era of American cartoons which really never goes out of style. It is dense with fine details from the characters to the environments to everything in between, worth at least one extra playthrough just to soak it all in. +I say this a boomer shooter newbie, but I found the gameplay to be fairly solid. The overall pace is fast enough to never get too sluggish (maybe a little slow in-between set pieces), and it comes with a fair bit of variety in its weapons. Admittedly the beginning portions are easy to the point of being tedious, but with progression, I found the game has a greater focus on building the momentum rather than just dumping in it all at once. As such, I personally feel it's great for accessibility for genre newcomers such as myself, and I hope this game will act as springboard to encourage further genre exploration. +A classic noir narrative that is highly elevated by a solid voice cast and catchy soundtrack (personal bias: I'm a sucker for detective stories and other thrilling tales). Admittedly, dialog gets to be more than a little cheesy at times, and there are characters that quickly lose relevance (Millie Curd could've been cut out of the game and it would've changed nothing) - even so, it's got heart and again, the cast does a great job of making it believable and engaging, so I give it a pass. +All in all, highly recommend this game, and I sincerely hope for more in the future.
I'm a huge animation fan, so when I found out about this game through an early sneak peak back in like 2023, I instantly wishlisted it. I waited through the years, the delays, and when it finally came out, I bought the deluxe edition day one to show my appreciation to the team behind it... That being said, I only just got around to finishing it. This game is good, great even! The art-style is phenomenal, the gunplay is really fun, and the movement feels very smooth for the most part... but there are a lot of little things that make me call this game a 7 or 8 out of 10. First of all, the bugs. From what I played nothing game breaking, but a lot of minor annoyances kept popping up. For some reason, I just couldn't pick up like over 50% of the shotgun ammo boxes, and near the end of the game the "Toggle Flashlight" pop up just... didn't leave for like a whole level? Plus a few audio glitches, including the upgrade jingle randomly playing anytime I equipped a certain gun until I restarted. My main gripe however is how many collectables there are. This was my first boomer shooter, and my main impulse the entire time was to go fast, and when the game allowed me to, it was amazing. But the entire game I felt like I had to scan an entire room twice over to make sure I wasn't missing any collectables. Keep in mind, if you want to 100% this game, you need to keep your eyes peeled for Schematics, Money, Safes, Vents, Funko Pops?, Baseball Cards, Comic Strips, and probably something else I'm missing. It doesn't gel well with the fast gameplay when I need to come to a screeching halt every 2 minutes to make sure I'm not missing something minor. My final grievance is how some of the animations outside of combat just felt really stiff, which is odd for a game that's gimmick is rubberhose animation. A lot of the time there was a simple teleport or fade to black where I really felt like there needed to be an animation, and a lot of characters just kinda stand there looking awkward neverendingly. It almost makes me wish this game took LONGER to come out so they could polish up everything up a bit more. So in short, I really like this game, and will definitely try other boomer shooters like the original Doom and Quake because of it, but I can't say it lived up to the 3 years of hype I built up for it. Maybe that's my bad, but from the ending it kinda looks like they maybe hinted at the possibility of a sequel? If that does come to pass, I really hope they take their time with it, learn from this game, and create the masterpiece I know this has the potential to be.
GoofySlayer Plusy: -dialogi -klimat -długość gry -strzelanie i poruszanie jest zrobione przyzwoicie Minusy; -czarno białe kolory mnie osobiście męczą -szkoda że postacie są w 2D -Kiepskie bronie ( używałem głównie James Gunn i wybielacza) -mała różnorodność wrogów
This game is almost a little too cheesy
This game gives me nostalgia. I absolutely love the story so far, been enjoying the style of this game. Love that you can revisit levels now.
Сырный кайф (:
