Mortanis Prisoners

Con sus defectos, me gustó mucho Eternal Evil de estos desarrolladores. Aunque he disfrutado Mortanis Prisoners, es muy inferior y mucho más corto. El juego es un mini-Resident Evil en el edificio central de un campo de concentración, convertido en un limbo/purgatorio del que nuestra alma busca la salida mientras matamos monstruos, resolvemos algunos puzzles y leemos las notas de la (irrelevante) historia. Si estás acostumbrado a los indies de formato Resident Evil y lo compras con bastante descuento, no está mal para pasar un rato sin pretensiones.

For people that would remember, pretty close concept than the first Alone in The Dark, it has no challenging / frustrating (depends on the point of view) parts like Outlast, is more like exploration and cross puzzle solving within a dark environment resembling Alone in the dark. I have to agree with some reviews about a huge miss opportunity within the story, very little is told when the concept itself is great and a lot more could have been done to show / tell a deeper story and even more so a bit more to the end of the game. Said all of the above is still a very enjoyable game at a very reasonable price, some very well made locations which one does not mind having to backtrack to solve the various puzzles to finish the game. Did not come across any bug or any part that would make you want to drop the game.

Ничего особого, но атмосферно. Головоломки совсем простые, прям детские. Мобы с точки зрения противника никакущие. С афк у меня ушло 3 часа, а так контента на 1.5-2 часа. Перепроходить точно желания не возникнет, ибо нового ничего не встретишь. Единственное, что напрягло - почему я не могу сразу взять канистру и статуэтки? Зачем этот симулятор курьера? Я два раза проходил мимо канистры и 10 раз мимо статуэток. Можно было б дать возможность сразу их забрать и положить в ящик. Патронов в избытке, если хоть немного способен попадать, проблем не возникнет. Но нож это полный треш) Еле заковырял одного моба, больше не доставал В целом выше среднего. Спасибо, что ничего не забагалось.

I wish there was a middle thumb option, like, eh? It's fine, the price is fine, the puzzles aren't anything special, it's more to do with just hunting down the items you need to complete it. I like that despite the game's area being small, they keep it interesting by changing the environment over the course of the play-through. Very middle of the road kind of game, I feel like I agree with some of the other reviews I've read in that it doesn't seem to have too much "soul" if that makes any sense, like it was rushed over perfected. Nothing notable or negative visually, in story telling, or in game-play. Overall it's just alright, I don't think you'd be missing anything if you skipped it, but if you like the devs and what you see, supporting them could lead to future games that are much better. So, maybe wait for a sale?

Данная игра примерно на одном уровне с предыдущим проектом данного разработчика Hangman's Rope, который был такой же непродолжительный. Если ждёте чего-то подобного Eternal Evil, то этого не получите. Я не разочарован, потому что приобретал её ещё в раннем доступе по более приятной цене, чем нынешняя. Ничего не буду здесь выделять в качестве плюсов и минусов, т.к. проект получился довольно средний. В общем, если хотите поддержать разработчика, то можете приобрести.

A Decent Indie Effort with Room to Grow If you're looking for a quick, low-stakes experience, Mortanis Prisoners isn't a bad way to spend an afternoon—provided you go in with the right expectations. It feels very much like a small-scale passion project, and while it has its charms, there are some significant pacing issues that keep it from being a "must-play" at full price. The Breakdown: The Pacing: The movement speed is a major hurdle. The "run" button basically just gets you to a standard walking speed, and the regular walk is painstakingly slow. Without a jump mechanic, traversing the environment can feel like a bit of a chore. The Challenge: To put it bluntly, it's very easy. The enemies don't offer much in the way of engagement or threat, and you’ll likely breeze through the content without much resistance. Gameplay & Feel: It’s a slow-burn experience. While it’s not "bad," it definitely needs more polish on the enemy variety and player mobility to make the gameplay loop feel truly rewarding. Final Thoughts: I’m not mad I bought it, and I’m not mad I played it—I actually knocked out 100% of the achievements in about 5 hours. It’s a fine little project, but it’s hard to recommend at a higher price point. Pro Tip: Limit yourself from picking this up until it’s under $5. At that price, it’s a fair trade for a few hours of gameplay.
