We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Reviews
Thought it was just gonna be your neurotypical Pokémon clone with some extra jumping, but the battle system is unironically one of the best I've seen. Room for improvement (more unique effects could be there) but on its own it's extremely solid.
Great game. Very much achieves the niche it is going for.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 20: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2.71/day in the week to Jul 30 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I couldn't really hang with it. Combat felt tedious, expecting you to do the full round of buffs and debuffs for even the smallest encounter, and since your enemies would do the same, it lead to battles feeling drawn out for no good reason. Exploration was fine, and I like the idea of utilizing monsters in exploring, but on the flip side not getting specific monsters meant missing out on things, and since monsters are gained through random battle drops, it would just be easier to go without. It was a pretty good idea, just not played out the best way.
Pokemon if gamefreak cared.
I've always had a slight liking for these kinds of games but my skill has always been lacking with trying to figure out strategies and what ends up working well, and this game is no different. My personal issues aside, you travel around the world, collecting creatures and battling while also using your companions to further explore the world; metroidvania style. The battle system plays more on a strategic style as you not only use moves and buffs to deal with your enemies, but it also relies on a combo system to rack up as much ammo as you can in a single turn before you start blasting and a stamina system that forces you to be mindful about not spamming your strongest moves (which is probably why you still have access to your weaker moves in addition to the skills you unlock). As your monsters level up, you can buff them up via their skill tree to unlock new skills or passives, or upgrade your current skills, not to mention statuses and tone shift passives to think about. In short, there is a lot to think about with team composition and strategy in this game. It's very expansive with a lot of things to do, including an arena, battle challenges, and PVP battles. It may look nice enough, but the game really wants you to understand the core gameplay and have at least some understand instead of just powering through. You think balanced and versatile would get you through at least the main story but unless you come up with something that can work effectively, your just stalling your demise. Maybe it also doesn't help that in competitive battles your opponent always gets dibs on attacking first. Regardless, art and music are good and pleasant and overall this game is an interesting take on the monster-collecting genre with an interesting story to back it up.
There is a a lot you can do for a monster to customize a build. Some reviews say it gets grindy at the end, but if you just git gud you can beat the boss with an under leveled team. I stopped for the last boss to grind like 3 lvls. I think it took like 30 minutes lol. So ya the combat system is pretty peak, I wanted to play the mulitplayer online but there was nobody there. For Monster Sanctuary 2 it would be nice if the player could shorten attack animations during a fighting by spamming a or something. And then sometimes I found myself spamming a while opening chests and end up closing the tab that shows me what I received. It would be nice if a opens the chest and x closes the tab or something to avoid this.
This game has surprised me consistently with its depth, intelligence, and yes, its heart. A perfect blend of Pokemon, Metroidvania, and Party-based RPG, "Monster Sanctuary" has been a delight from the first boot, despite grindy elements and a few RNG-dependent mechanics. This game awards exploration, experimentation, and even failure, as every encounter is a potential teaching moment which invites the player to reflect on his/her choices and ponder how to improve their performances. Platforming sections can be frustrating, as can some of the puzzles (especially the time-driven ones,) but nothing so far has been too difficult to completely discourage attempts. I have a seven-year-old, and he and I have thoroughly enjoyed our time with this title, and I have really appreciated how this game has bolstered his critical thinking skills, his memory recall, and his reading abilities. Overall, I think this game is a must-have for anyone who fondly remembers the joy of exploration in the original Metroid titles or anyone who wanted their Pokemon battles to rely on more than just a single monster's at-bat abilities. "Monster Sanctuary" is a joy to play, and I'm looking forward to delving even deeper in the NG+ modes (as well as the world of "Aethermancer" by the same team.)
