MODEL Debut3 #nicola macht mich als Fan von Fashion Games sehr glücklich. Man erhält sehr viele Möglichkeiten, Outfits mit passendem Make-Up zusammenzustellen und insgesamt recht kreativ auszuleben. Allerdings ist das Spiel recht schnell etwas repetitiv und die sozialen Interaktionen fühlen sich sehr generisch an. An die Spiele der Reihe Style Boutique bzw. New Style Boutique kommt das Spiel keinesfalls heran, jedoch ist es eines der besten "girly" Spiele auf Steam.

I won't lie to anyone and say that this game is perfect, because it's not. However, I will break up the tide of negative comments (though mostly valid takes) with the perspective of someone who sat down and played for nine hours straight and has over 300 hours in Style Savvy in my youth. THIS IS THE GAME YOU PLAY IF YOU WANT TO MAKE CUTE AND TRENDY OUTFITS! MODEL Debut 3 #nicola has tons of customization options for both your character's personal wardrobe and their modeling career. There's also different character interactions and even a romance subplot! Is the writing (at least as far as the English translation) out of this world and something I'd recommend to everyone? No, but it's not terrible either. The story is straightforward and the point is to become the top Nicola model. That's it. Just like in other fashion games like Style Savvy and such where the goal is to run your own store and make it big as a designer or something. It's purpose is served that way and it's done well. If you're expecting insane RPG style writing with customization... then go play Baldur's Gate 3 with clothing mods installed or something. There are cons, the main one which is what a lot of these reviews talk about is the skin tones. Honestly pitiful. I can't remember the last time, if ever in my lifetime, I didn't see at least three options (which even then is lacking) of other skin tones except white. Genuinely. Like, I get it since this game is run by a Japanese company but not even *two to three*? I did see it get rectified in Model Debut 4 so if you want, you could play that for an option. But this game isn't terrible because there isn't those options. I do agree with other comments and how they mentioned that maybe it wasn't expected to be big globally like this, but who knows. I will say the translations themselves in English are struggling at times in the game as well if that adds any weight to the "didn't plan on making it in the global market" comments. As far as cons go, at lot of people are making a big deal out of some other things one of them being the stock images. Yes, there's stock images with writing you can't edit and can't be covered easily. But it's not on every single picture and the whole point of being able to edit your magazine covers is to design once again. You can keep the backgrounds they provide or you can change it to one of *dozens* of different backgrounds. I thought there would only a handful of stock photography the way everyone was talking about it but honestly there's so much variety in the magazine design sections that you don't even need to use the stock images. There are issues of clipping with the shoulder bags especially and how they work on the model's form but that's truthfully my biggest frustration with the game is how I can't do poses and have a shoulder bag on. And if that's truly my only issue, then I would say this is a damn good game then to scratch that nostalgic itch. I do agree with people who say $40 is a bit much and to get it on sale, even though I purchased it for full price. I will say if you have been in desperate need for this niche to be fulfilled and aren't held back by anything I said before, then go for it. But if you're not sure, then wait and see if it drops. Or play Model Debut 4.
