Very good idea of a game, not so good implementation. I'm not sure how accurate this is as a sim of real machines, but as a gaming experience it is definitely lacking. Going from tutorial of bare minimum to suddenly having to do precise cuts in career mode is very steep. I barely managed to cut the first piece to exact specifications after many trial and error, but on the second one I just give up. I do as described in tutorial, I move the cutting tool until it hits the surface with edge finder on, turn on Move to position, reset and enter exact number of mm I'm looking for. The edge finder sometimes stops a few mm before the surface, Move to position acts unpredictably, sometimes moving way past the Target position and only limiting when going in opposite direction. Every time I try making a cut I either end up with some fractions of a mm left and have to do it again or overdo it and have to start the whole process again. Very frustrating. Needs more tutorials, specifically about precision.

I will probably give this another go because I design rather complex mechanical parts and haven't touched a mill in 20 years. That having been said, this is a very poorly made piece of software and calling it a game is a stretch. The explanations are poor, the interface is eye-pokingly ugly and the mechanics are not well fleshed out. Unless you're an engineer, and aspiring machinist, and/or a masochist, stay away.
be me: > go to work and do stuff with lathes and milling machines > "wow, finally work is over and i can go home" > "time to play some games" > *plays lathe/machining simulator* I like it. Its still in development and has bugs sometimes but overall its pretty nice for casual machining and learning the basics of using those machines. Obviously its not a super extreme realistic game that some irl machinists might expect, but its good if you just want some machining fun without having to buy a machine or changing jobs.
The best milling machine/CNC sandbox simulation software out there. its fun just being able to mess with these tools, and being able to undo a head crash xD +an active dev that constantly updates. very much worth it.
got this because I'm missing milling and turning. after that i worked as a welder and later as a production planner. it's surprisingly good. sadly the CNC doesn't have a Heidenhain or Sinumerik-like control, but I'm definitely happy with it. (tho im not missing welding) another small thing: material disappears if you drive a stationary tool into the part. in reality that obviously wouldn't cut, it would just crash or push material, unless you're broaching or something similar but keep up the good work

I’ve been working with CNC milling machines for the past 25 years (close to 30 if I include basic milling machines) and wanted to give this game a fair shot. To be upfront, I only tried the first two career workpieces before I stopped. The third piece was more of the same. For someone who has a lot of IRL experience there is not much of a challenge to produce those pieces. It feels like another boring day at work with extremely basic tasks. The simulation feels pretty accurate for what I have done. I wouldn't recommend the game for someone who is an experienced milling-machine-operator, however I see great value for everyone who wants to learn milling. That being said, I’ve only seen the first three career levels and I don’t know what I could expect later on. If I knew what tasks were waiting for me in the late game, I might be more interested in doing the basics. I refunded the game not because it’s bad, at least not in my opinion. I refunded it because it actually felt like being at work.

I'm currently schooling for machining and i have to say, this simulator is pretty accurate and fun too! but i believe it would be pretty cool if this was able to be played in vr, and the mechanics of the machine able to be moved physically.
