About
The gory thrills of giallo, the suspense of slashers, and the otherworldly charm of 70s and 80s sci-fi.
We're thrilled to bring you a chilling adventure that blends cinematic horror with the nostalgic vibes of '90s 16-bit games.
After waking from the nightmare and answering the mysterious phone call, Sarah can unlock manual saving by interacting with the cigarette pack in the kitchen.
How to use it: In your inventory, drag the cigarette onto the lighter to bring up the save menu.

Midnight Special is a point-and-click survival horror experience that echoes the spirit of '90s classics like Clock Tower and Resident Evil. Set in the late '80s at Boyd Manor, you step into the shoes of Sarah, a babysitter tasked with watching over Jon and Ellie Boyd for the night.
What begins as an ordinary evening takes a sinister turn.
The power goes out, plunging the house into pitch-black darkness. With each step, reality twists into something far more disturbing.
Bizarre phone calls, a deranged stalker perhaps?
Unpleasant odors seeping up from the floorboards.
Objects moving on their own as if possessed.
A life-sized plastic dinosaur that seems... alive.
Has Sarah lost her mind? Or has something far more sinister taken root?

This is a really solid horror puzzle game. However, a few of the puzzles have no or very little guidance to them; the opening logos should be skippable because after you've seen them once, that's enough, and the ending sucks. That said, this may be the closest anyone has come to recapturing the magic of Clock Tower 1, and I would highly recommend any long-time fan or newcomer to give it a try, and for the developer to keep working on it and dial back on the references.

If Clock Tower and Dead of the Brain had a child and it was fine thick boy. Steam Deck / gamepad controls are a bit off the beaten path but serviceable. Didn't experience any major issues although some progression blockers are a bit arcane to figure out. If you're a fan of this narrow genre bender, it's a treat.
(ENG) A stylish game with beautiful pixel graphics!) That's all. Minuses: - The game doesn't work well. The screen with the man with the centipede crawling out of his mouth cannot be closed (the cross does not work). It's the same with other similar screens (refrigerator, for example). I managed to close them only through the inventory, I opened the children's drawing and when I closed it, I managed to exit menu - the Russian translation is terrible) even for automatic equipment) - everything in the inventory is piled up in one pile (notes and items) - it is worth adding a normal way to enable full-screen mode instead of using Alt+Enter These are the moments that spoil a good game, alas... When you encounter problems like the inability to close the menus... Game Refund! I recommend that the developer adjust the assignment of some keys in the game for the keyboard: Inventory Menu - Tab Aim Weapon - Space (RUS)
I enjoyed playing this game. It has great graphics, and the sound design is excellent, the subtle noises add to the tension. I had fun exploring the rooms, uncovering secrets and solving the puzzles. I love the scary stuffs, like the hanging corpse in Sarah's nightmare and the monster in the basement. I highly recommend this game! I can't wait to explore more of it..
Back then, I played the early access version of this and enjoyed it waiting for the full release. After waiting for so long for this game to fully release. I am beyond disappointed. I was expecting this game to be better, yet it broke in many ways during gameplay. It looked promising like it could have been a decent horror like Clock Tower. Pros- Scary and unsettling atmosphere in a pixel animated art style. Music and sounds added to the aesthetics. (Sadly these are the only good things about this game). Cons- Pacing makes the early game really easy to lose interest. Some puzzles are not obvious, and may take a bit to figure out. Controls are not usually responsive during gameplay. Game can bug a lot during certain sequences (especially getting maxed out sanity lighting the same candle repeatedly). There is literally ways to get soft-locked during crack in the wall part on the third floor, which can not be avoided requiring you to either load a previous save file, or start completely from the beginning. Sanity some how allows you to find certain times in areas you originally searched before, revealing an item that wasn't originally there. There is literally no way to complete the game at all (I have tried believe me). I tried to look up a walkthrough from someone who played the full version, and just like me they got stuck during the crack in the wall part on the third floor. If that dead lady gets too close there is literally no way to reset her positioning. Even when I saved before that part, the game had no end anywhere, which I'm pretty sure was another soft-locked bug. Price for this game is also not worth it despite it offering the four endings that I will never get to see since there is no way to complete this game.
Refund, until game will be patched normally. In general, i liked the art style and thick atmosphere. Will definetely buy it once they will fix all of the problems. Also, whats the point of panic meter and falling while running, if there is no stalker ? Especially, when pays a homage to the Clock Tower
