Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

I decided to take the sale to check out '24 even with the so-so reviews. To save the suspense, the sim is stunning, I've had almost no issues, its a light download (a rarity in the flight sim world) and the streaming is amazing - I've had one crash, otherwise this has been one of the best experiences I have had in flight simming. I almost exclusively do DCS and own most of what it has to offer with many many hours in sim. In terms of MSFS - I played a decent amount of 2020, enjoyed it but wasn't my main sim and didn't really hook me. I personally enjoy analog and WWII stuff, and just dabble in GA so some of the reasoning is that probably. I also don't really care for heavy jets, just not my thing. Additionally I have time in IL2 both Korea and GB. I hesitated to check out '24 because of the rocky start- so I am just now jumping in, Ie I had lower expectations. So, for me this has been a blast and has really added that much needed fuel to reignite the fire I have for aviation. The sim itself is stunning, it really is one of the most incredible looking sims on the market. FM wise, I am not a pilot so I can't speak to the reality of that, I just have one discovery flight so subjectively only: the FM feels pretty damned good, way better than 2020 at least imho. I mostly fly the A2A though and third party stuff so I am sure some feel meh. But so far nothing "on rails" like 2020 felt. My aircraft feels in the world, rather than the world attached to me. Overall I am very happy with my purchase, and look forward to many more hours in the sim sightseeing and not doing combat; but rather, just enjoying - as close as I can currently get- to the joy of flight. In closing, I think its worth jumping into if you haven't.
