It is the offline version of the former Metal Slug Attack gacha game. It is very good, being you can grind and get everything for free. No energy or paid currency. (Unlike Metal Slug Defense, which is a worse version of this game in almost every way). You are limited to certain units until you reach milestones, forcing some team building and grinding throughout. It has anime designed characters in it, but such is the mobile game genre. It has many old metal slug units to get, and a fair and rewarding upgrade system. All in all a solid game for fans of the IP, especially on a sale.
It's a decent waste of time, but I would only buy it on sale. I first tried these spinoffs with the Metal Slug Defense release for mobile, and I'm sad to say I think that's still the best version ever released. Reloaded is ok, and it has some of the same fun gameplay, but the game design and balance aren't as good, the UI is way worse, and this game in particular suffers from not having all the units from the original mobile release. While I agree with decision to get rid of the crappy recolors, the final roster is still missing dozens of original units, some of which were pretty cool (albeit overpowered in some cases). There's also a seriously boring grind for upgrade materials and some awful translations in chunks of the story. Considering the original mobile game has shut down and this is the only real way to play MSA anymore, Reloaded is, in all honesty, a nice gesture from the developers but kind of a poor product.

A deplorable microtransactional mobile game that died and resurrected as a proper console game, as god intended. Gameplay is great, and the collection of pixel characters is just fantastic and a joy to look at. Grindy af though.

Get this game if 7 out of 10 units on your deck being anime waifus makes sense to you in a military game. You will need build a deck like that eventually.
Abandoned ,2 years without update,it's good but grindy as hell and the difficulty spikes a lot,you have to have a deck of each faction if you want to progress,also you will mostly find anime girls instead of the usual metal slug stuff,so if you like anime it's your game i guess,also tons of fan service,like idk if i am playing a nsfw game sometimes or metal slug TD,multiplayer is dead and kinda unfair as if you're 30lvl you will find lvl 50s or worse as there's not many guys playing it,balance of some units is kinda bad,personal take:kinda wish there was more of actual metal slug instead of all anime waifufied stuff.
Good as an archive of sprites more than anything else. Too grindy to be fun long term.
