Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.5/day in the week to Aug 3 → 9.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Meltopia is a minimalist game that takes you to a snowy world full of mysteries and glacial secrets. You'll explore its frozen landscapes, melt the snow, collect valuable resources and ancient artifacts. Bring them back to your hub platform, where they will gradually thaw.
But your ultimate goal is to find and assemble the remains of an ancient Mammoth!
Snow isn’t an obstacle—it’s the way forward. Use a heat gun and other tools to unlock frozen areas and delve deeper into the icy world of Meltopia.
Rare resources and ancient artifacts are hidden in the snow-covered expanse. Every discovery brings you closer to uncovering the story of this frozen world.
Beneath the snow lies a completely different world: icy caves, the sound of dripping water, and shimmering reflections on the walls. This unexpected transition creates a striking contrast and enhances the feeling of exploration.
Icy caves, snowy tunnels, and forgotten dungeons hold many secrets. Explore every corner to uncover surprising stories and hidden passages.
When heat isn’t enough—it’s time for explosions! Dynamite will help you blast through thick layers of ice and access hard-to-reach areas.
Over time, you can enhance your arsenal. Upgrade your heat gun to melt snow faster and defeat icy enemies more effectively.
Everything in this frozen world resists your warmth. But you have the power to melt the ice, awaken ancient secrets, and collect the Mammoth’s remains. Don’t stop—Meltopia awaits its hero.
The game offers a slow-paced, relaxing experience with no strict rules, allowing you to explore, thaw, and uncover mysteries at your own pace.

get "upgraded technology", don't last as long in the cold. what the hell is this?

This game is fun for about half an hour and becomes utterly boring after that, because the game-play loop has zero variation and it feels like you're running in a hamster wheel without making any progress except for some pretty lame upgrades like more fuel and more inventory space. Apparently, judging by the screenshots on the store page, there seem to be other weapons than the initial meltgun at some time later in the game, but I am not sure if I have the patience to continue grinding/melting on.
Man schmilzt. Man sammelt.
Fazit
I was going to say that I don't understand why people hate the Tesla gun, but I think I do get where they are coming from. If you expect a walking simulator without any challenges, then the Tesla gun will irritate you, as will other things, like the freezing risk (not killing you, but making you loose all your collected resources), the grappling hook (never seems to grab a hold when it would make things soooo simple ), the absence of a map and the run for the final mammoth bone that seems impossible to do without freezing over and over again. This is a mix of walking simulator and puzzle game though, so there IS a challenge. The Tesla gun is a tool specifically for blue ice. To make it workable, you have to do (very costly) updates, so earning money and spending it wisely is a thing. The grappler refuses to attach sometimes, because the game wants to force a certain (more challenging) route. At the same time the humble grappler can be a mighty tool to prevent freezing. I initially thought the run for the last bone was impossible, but then I discovered how to beat it anyway. I like this game's combination of traits and therefore I don't think that what some people call "design flaws" are mistakes. They are challenges to overcome, and they definitely can be beaten.
