Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 22 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Lucky me gets to be the first to warn gamers about yet another garbage asset flip. Mei Paranormies 2 is the 70th in a row of 71 asset flips from Anamik Majumdar, who keeps reskinning the same lame GameMaker Studio game templates and re-releasing them on Steam with a few minor changes. Anamik produces roughly two of these asset flips per month and publishes them on Steam Direct. This asset flip spam is incredibly harmful pollution on the store. The GameMaker Studio templates he keeps re-releasing are just basic retro pixel (couldn't he rip off a template with proper graphics??) 2D top down/platformer stealth/action games. Here's some other copy + pastes from Anamik of exactly the same game template:

Abandoned Cabins in the Woods
Abandoned Croxon Mansion
Arata Haunted Asylum
Ashentia Hauntings 1 + 2
Axizon Labs: Zombies
Canterz Paranormies 1 + 2
Carlos Haunted House
Charles Haunted Mansion
Clara Wraiths 1 + 2
Davis Haunted House
Emi's Solo Ghost Haunting 1 + 2
Gaze At Maze
Ghost In The Barn House
Gregor Hills Haunted Hospital
Haunted Jail: Alcatas
Heltons Haunted Hotel
House Number 666
Koverpark Haunted Subway
Manicos Haunted Hotel
Mei Paranormies 1 + 2
Mello Haunted House
My Grandpa's Haunted House
My Haunted Doll
Palmvil Haunted Villa
Rescue Rina
Ryo The Haunted Office
Shelley's Haunted House
The Chills
The Haunted Exmone Theatre
The Haunted Nora Apartment
The Haunted Spot 1 + 2
The Haunted Tunnel
Zeroton Hauntings 1 + 2
These are all EXACTLY the same game!!! There's also this other 2D platformer template which has been copied+pasted many times:

Ava's Adventure
Balloon Azuna
Boon Boon
Christmas Cats Revenge
Electronic World Z
Emiko's Pledge
Emiko's Pledge 2
Emiko's Pledge 3
Emiko's Pledge 4
Fight For Love
Jaxon The Thief
Keatz: The Lonely Bird
Mika's Battle S
Mika's Battle S 2
Mika's Battle S 3
Mission XAM
NightmareZ
Orange Santa
Smash Halloween Pumpkins: The Challenge
Super Strawberry Man
The Christmas Gifts
The Hero of Bangaona
The Valley of Super Flowers
Yui Tui
Zack Y
These are all exactly the same game, same assets, just a pallette swap every now and then... the laziest "game development" known to mankind. And it's all garbage! And honorable mentions, the shoot 'em up copy+pastes, Ayako's Mission, Proxy Air Force and Warships on the Halloween Night. These are all basically the exact same GameMaker Studio game templates with a different skin and a couple of things changed. No professional effort was made in terms of game development, using a game construction kit requires no game development talent, and unsurprisingly produces products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. We can consider this to be asset flipping, in this case only barely more ethical just because it's the developers own assets that keep getting copy + pasted, but the end result for gamers is the same as any Russian asset flip: A fake game with extremely poor quality, no value or merit as a serious game for gamers, polluting Steam and abusing Steam Direct as a cash grab. No matter how many times this guy copy+pastes the same game, it's not suddenly going to become anything but garbage. Rehashing the same game over and over again is just a cheap nasty cash grab. While Anamik Majumdar occasionally breaks Valve guidelines for partners and attacks reviewers, any legitimacy he may have is eradicated by the way he pumps these copy+paste asset flips out and bulk sells keys to crapware bundle merchants like DailyIndieGame. It's also important to note Anamik Majumdar has denied using GameMaker Studio to make his asset flips, despite every single one being made with GameMaker Studio. It's unclear why Anamik Majumdar has been misleading about these templated cash grabs, but when developers lie and mislead gamers, gamers deserve to know about it before they make a buying decision. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak player count was only ONE player. That's right, only one person ever played this at a time. When I played this for the purposes of reviewing it, I equalled the peak player count for the game. OUCH. The only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Let's talk about pricing and the actual value this has for gamers. Is this game one of the best of the 140,000+ games on Steam? Mei Paranormies 2 is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. This is also competing with over 14,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Mei Paranormies 2 is a compact indie horror adventure that embraces retro-inspired design while delivering a suspenseful paranormal investigation. Taking control of Mei, a determined investigator with experience confronting supernatural phenomena, players are sent to examine the infamous Gesture Guesthouse, a once-popular lodging that has become notorious for its unexplained hauntings and disturbing history. Rather than emphasizing combat or relentless action, the game builds its identity around exploration, environmental storytelling, and the constant uncertainty of what may be waiting in the next room. Its classic top-down perspective and pixel-art presentation give it the charm of old-school horror titles while maintaining enough atmosphere to create genuine moments of tension. The setting plays a major role in establishing the game's appeal. Gesture Guesthouse is more than just another abandoned location filled with ghosts; it is a place scarred by tragedy. Stories of violent crime, mysterious deaths, and persistent paranormal sightings have transformed the building into a destination that attracts investigators instead of tourists. As Mei explores the premises, players gradually uncover fragments of the guesthouse's dark past through careful observation and progression rather than lengthy exposition. This approach encourages curiosity, allowing the mystery to unfold naturally while reinforcing the unsettling feeling that every corridor and locked room holds another piece of the puzzle. Gameplay is built around exploration, survival, and puzzle-solving. Advancement depends on locating keys, gathering useful objects, and discovering important items hidden throughout the guesthouse. Every collectible serves a purpose, whether it unlocks a new section or contributes to understanding the larger mystery. Instead of empowering players with an arsenal of weapons, Mei Paranormies 2 asks them to stay alert and avoid danger whenever possible. Hostile spirits, environmental hazards, and deadly traps force players to pay attention to their surroundings, rewarding patience and careful navigation over reckless exploration. The addition of a supernatural realm also introduces a refreshing gameplay twist, expanding the investigation beyond the physical world and giving the paranormal theme greater significance. Although the visual presentation remains intentionally simple, the pixel-art graphics effectively capture the mood of a haunted location. Dimly lit interiors, abandoned guest rooms, and eerie environmental details work together to establish a persistent sense of isolation. The sound design complements the visuals with unsettling ambient effects that keep players anticipating unexpected encounters even during relatively quiet moments. The game proves that effective horror does not require photorealistic graphics, relying instead on thoughtful atmosphere and consistent tension to leave a lasting impression. One of the game's most noticeable drawbacks is its brief runtime. Most players can complete the investigation in around half an hour, making it more of a short horror experience than a lengthy adventure. While this limits opportunities for deeper character development and more elaborate gameplay systems, it also ensures the pacing remains focused from beginning to end. The experience avoids unnecessary filler, delivering a concise supernatural mystery that respects the player's time. Players seeking an extended survival horror campaign may find the content limited, but those interested in a quick and atmospheric ghost story will likely appreciate its efficient structure. Mei Paranormies 2 succeeds by delivering exactly what it promises: a straightforward paranormal horror adventure centered on investigation, exploration, and suspense. Its engaging setting, intriguing backstory, satisfying progression, and nostalgic presentation combine to create a memorable indie experience despite its modest scope. The game may not introduce groundbreaking mechanics or an expansive narrative, but it effectively captures the thrill of uncovering supernatural secrets within a haunted location. For fans of retro horror games and compact narrative-driven experiences, it offers an enjoyable journey that leaves enough mystery to remain memorable after the credits roll. Rating: 5/10
