man the sequel
Honestly, I feel sorta mixed about Meegah Mem 2. Now, as a fan of Mega Man 2 (both the NES classic and World 2 on Game Boy, if that counts), I had some fun with it and I can forgive it for being a joke/parody. I find it oddly fun playing through the Mega Man 2 levels with the MS Paint graphics and kazoo music, and some of the bosses were honestly sorta easier compared to the original bosses, even if I preferred the challenge from the original Mega Man 2. But my main flaw is the softlocks. There was one time where I just got softlocked in Are Mem's level for seemingly no reason. And another softlock in Wily's Castle 2 when I was trying to choose another item, but clipped through a wall. And since there wasn't any death confirmation or anything, I was just stuck in an endless pit while the Weapon Selection froze on me, which also happened during my first softlock. I guess some other flaws I had too, was Kwik Mem's level having beams that were way too fast for me to react to. It was almost why I wanted to give up, but at least it was a good way to farm E-Tanks, and I finally managed to beat Qwik Mem even if it was a difficult experience. Oh, and the water physics are also hard for me to get used to compared to the original Mega Man 2, and I did find it sort of frustrating, but so far from what I've played from Bubbil Mem's level, it wasn't that bad once I got used to it despite the amount of times I died. Overall from what I've played and some of my thoughts on it, I'd say maybe give it a try if you're into playing joke/parody games or a Mega Man fan like I am. Though, my experience with some of the levels and the frustrating softlocks did make it a mixed bag for me, so I suppose it depends. Still, I'll probably recommend it anyway despite my flaws with it.

10/10. It perfectly recreates the experience of playing a video game in a dream: you somehow know where everything is, but nothing looks, feels, or sounds quite right. You try to run, but your legs are jelly. Buy it. Burn it all down.
