About

Operating directly under the National Command Authority, a relatively unknown entity of handpicked warriors are selected when it is crucial that a mission must not fail. They are the Tier 1 Operators. There are over 2 million active soldiers. Of those, approximately 50 thousand fall under the direct control of the Special Operations Command. The Tier 1 Operator functions on a level above and beyond even the most highly trained Special Operations Forces. Their exact numbers, while classified, hover in the low hundreds. They are living, breathing, precision instruments of war. They are experts in the application of violence. The new Medal of Honor™ is inspired by and developed with actual Tier 1 Operators from this elite community. Players step into the boots of these warriors and apply their unique skill sets to fight a new enemy in the most unforgiving and hostile conditions of present day Afghanistan.
This is a new war. There is a new warrior. He is Tier 1.
Fight Today's War: Elite Special Forces in a gritty combat campaign using the surgical tactics of Tier 1 Operators combined with the sledgehammer force of Army Rangers.

Good game
Original disc version on Linux — a buggy mess scripted as hell
Important: This review is based on a complete playthrough of the patched original retail disc version running through Wine 11 on Kubuntu 26.04. It is not based on the Steam or GOG release. Steam only shows 0.3 hours because I did not complete the game through Steam. This review covers the single-player campaign only. Medal of Honor (2010) moves the series into the war in Afghanistan and switches between Tier 1 operators and Army Rangers. It tries to present a more grounded military campaign than Call of Duty, with stealth, sniping, air support, vehicle sections and large firefights. Unfortunately, I found the campaign to be a buggy mess and one of the most aggressively scripted action games I have played.
The action is controlled by hidden triggers
The biggest problem is that events often refuse to happen until I stand in one exact place or perform the exact action demanded by the script. It does not feel like I am advancing through a battle. It feels like I am searching for invisible switches that allow the battle to continue. A good example happens in the built-up area that the game calls a “compound.” The objective told me to look for Panther and Vegas at the compound walls. The area looked more like a small town or city to me, so the wording confused me and it took far too long to understand what the game wanted. By pure chance, I was already aiming toward the correct corner. Even then, Panther and Vegas did not come around it until I moved close enough to activate the hidden trigger. Nothing was wrong with my position from a tactical point of view; the game simply refused to continue until I obeyed its script. That example describes much of the campaign. Your squad can appear unable to do anything until you cross the correct line, even when everyone is already in position. It destroys the illusion of being part of a military operation because the soldiers often feel like actors waiting for their cue.
Linux and Wine experience
My system:
OS: Kubuntu 26.04 LTS Wine: 11 CPU: Intel Core i7-6850K @ 4.00 GHz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER RAM: 16 GB Resolution: 1920x1080
The disc version installed, patched and ran, but it needed manual fixes. After roughly an hour of play, the game crashed and displayed an error containing a long list of memory addresses. I stopped that long-session crash by launching it with:
WINE_LARGE_ADDRESS_AWARE=1
The default mouse movement also felt extremely unnatural because mouse smoothing was enabled. I disabled it in MOHAInput.ini:
bEnableMouseSmoothing=false
The game still did not feel smooth, so I also changed this in MOHAEngine.ini:
OneFrameThreadLag=False
After those changes, the game ran much better. They did not fix the campaign’s scripting problems or the other bugs, but they made aiming and general movement far more tolerable.
What still works
There are moments where the atmosphere, weapon sounds and mountain setting work well. The campaign also has more variety than a basic corridor shooter, and some of the larger defensive battles are effective when the scripting behaves correctly. But the game constantly removes control from the player. It funnels you through narrow paths, waits for invisible triggers and regularly makes it obvious that every dramatic moment has been staged around one exact action. A linear shooter can still feel natural; this one often feels mechanically forced. The campaign took me a little under five hours to finish. That is not automatically a problem, but it is very short for a game with this many interruptions, bugs and technical issues. There is not enough strong gameplay here to compensate for how often the scripting gets in the way.
Verdict
Not recommended. There is a decent military shooter buried inside Medal of Honor (2010), but I spent too much time fighting its scripts, controls and technical problems instead of fighting the enemy. The Wine fixes made it playable and improved the mouse response, but they could not fix the basic design. If you specifically want a short, heavily directed Afghanistan campaign and can tolerate old PC-game problems, you may get something from it. For me, completing the original disc version only confirmed how limited, fragile and over-scripted the experience is. 13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 8: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

A solid military shooter. The campaign is short but really engaging. Gun mechanics are similar to battlefield as this uses a similar game engine. Overall 7.5/10
Medal of Honor (2010) Vamos lá, o que posso dizer desse jogo?
10/10 masterpiece. MOH 2010 has a much better story and gunplay then its counterpart, MOH Warfighter. Short campaign but my god it was worth the money. RIP Danger Close
A Modern military shooter released in 2010, following in the footsteps of Modern Warfare I will start with a confession: I did enjoy a lot of these games back in the day, MW1 blew me away, it was fantastic, and so was MW2 and WaW. In time, the tropes of these games started getting extremely annoying, such as having friendly NPCs barking orders at you every 5 seconds, the linear pacing of the story mode, and the endless hordes of enemies without an ounce of self-preservation you have to kill before being allowed to push forward. All of these are present on this game, however, the campaign is very competent, the pacing is great, the guns feel great, and its satisfying to shoot bad guys over and over again. It still feels like an on rails shooter, I did try to break the script of the game in order to see just how ridiculous it would get, and it got me some hilarious moments. In short, I would have loved this in 2010 but time passed on and I only got the chance in 2026. The meme worthy cliches are all over the place but the gameplay is solid and worth checking out PS: It PAINS me to thumbs up an ea game but I have to be honest, this was a great time although not as good as the original Modern Warfare 7/10
