Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 10.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 9.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
TL:DR, 9/10, and one of my absolute favorite games of all time. Plays best on controller or HOTAS, M&K is fully supported too, and Steam Deck is a great option if slightly small text is alright with you, the game itself runs fine. If the idea of getting deep into the guts of a walking combat machine and adjusting and modifying it to your desires appeals to you, have a go at this. It's a slow burn story that's very open and replayable, and also excellent with friends. I have a handful of quality of life gripes, but not much more than little menu annoyances or the AI occasionally misbehaving with terrain. This is a game so good I bought it twice, just to have it on PC after I left my PS4 behind. I just wish it had a demo edition that could let you play the opening missions of the campaign, Steam's 2-hour refund window is a little short for those who want to pay attention to the story to get immersed while getting their feet wet and seeing if they like it. On that note, I've bought the game for a dozen friends, and all of them have stuck with it for at least 200 hours, if not closer to 500! It still gets expansions and updates as of writing this, and is showing no signs of stopping. Even without the expansions, it's still an incredible experience, both casually with friends and as something to hone yourself on. Adore this game.

MW5: Mercenaries was a little bare bones when it released. The DLC's and continued support from PGI and modders have really fleshed this game out. I highly recommend investing in the DLC's, as they provide new Mechs, weapons, campaigns, and mission types into the sandbox. If you are new to the battletech universe, the stories can have some great intrigue and action. Kind of reminds me of some SciFi B movie you'd catch on TV after The Price is Right was over when you stayed home from school sick in the 90's.
pretty fun if u like a grounded mech game
Is fun, just buy.
My personal faverite game of all time. the only downside to me is that you can only have 4mechs a mission/one dropship. i hope oneday a mod or dlc will come along and let you have more then one dropship.
Game is best enjoyed with the dlc's and the YAML mod, but boy howdy is it good once you get going. Can't recommend this game enough. Bring friends
Loose story, but piloting a giant mech will always be fun. Cool mechanics, great gameplay.
I played Mechwarrior 4 ages ago and recently wanted to see if the "new" mechwarrior 5 was any good, since I couldn't find 4 anywhere. Downloaded the vanilla MW5 and the first hour was, tbh, a slog. But after that... yeah, yeah it's pretty good.
This game is pretty Great, but I would but it on sale with the DLC.
