Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 10.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 9.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Pros: - Boom boom dakka dakka - Some lore, interesting new universe for me. - Funny jokes. A far cry for Duncan Fisher, who is "late to rise for the occasion", hehe. - Cool graphics. Adequate sound effects. - Addictive gameplay. Boom, and 4 hours have passed. Cons: - Bad video cutscenes quality, even in the latest DLC that released just this month? I'm not asking for 4k ultra clear 500gb vids, but hey guys, your videos are not even going fullscreen on ultrawide monitor, feel like 480p Youtube when internet is slow, and the 32 or 64bit/s bitrate for the audio is VERY noticeable. It is ok to make high quality renders of your videos in 2026, I assure you. And this is painful to watch, even though acting is alright. - Stutters when spawning enemies. - Enemies are not on the map from the get-go, they spawn when you reach the trigger point. Not like it is in videos about Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries that I've seen. Feels a bit unfair tbh. I would like to be able to snipe them across half the map if I have good enough render distance and fitting setup with gausses or autocannons. Long range is kinda useless when there are no enemies around and you HAVE to get closer than 800m for them to spawn, and swarm you in close distance fight. - Enemies spawn right before your eyes sometimes. You zoom in, no enemies in the compound, you walk a bit closer, BLIP, three mechs materialize out of thin air right as you watch them do it. Breaks immersion and is unfair. If you want to spawn-in someone - make them drop from a dropship, not like this. - Stupid ally AI in vanilla. Gets fixed by using TTRulez AI Mod. Still sometimes a bit stupid but gets way better. - Low music variety. Music feels too generic, although there are some cool tracks. Overall I recommend, a nice game to pass multiple evenings or even hang out in there for a longer time. Plays good with friends in co-op. But it would be cool to fix up some of the cons I highlighted, it would be a true gem then I guess.

Ai is constantly bugging out whether that means that they stand still and dont do anything or cant even pathfind to the most basic of places.
So after 40+hrs playing I'd say I've a fair impressions of both the flaws and pro's of Mechwarrior 5. I don't use mods so this is the base game and all DLC's installed, and speaking of the DLC, you will want all of it as I can already see what it adds to the game is too important to be left out. Either buy on sale or as a discounted package - but don't play without them. As for the game itself - the campaign has you running a fresh Mercenary company from the start. This includes taking contracts, paying the bills, upkeep, mech loadouts, repairs, and even hiring / firing pilots - just about every aspect, you have a hand in it. Gameplay is excellent and well executed with some real standout moments. I had no crashes on my system, however don't use Ray Tracing as it's well known that it causes issues, and adds so little to the game it's just not worth using. Unfortunately it's been badly implemented, even if you try and use DLSS to smooth it out. Lots of reviews mention poor AI, well - it does have some issues, but not every time. The most common offender is stuck units. You can work around some of them but it is annoying to do so. Overall MW5 is an excellent game, and if you like the idea of piloting a big stompy robot - while running your own Merc outfit, then like me, you'll get a lot out of it.
Best way to treat this game as sold is as sort of a Lego basic set - Use the base game to learn the ins and outs and then mod it particularly with YAML as it opens up the possibilities. The campaign is okay but really nothing to write how about but the real heart of the game (IMHO ) is the career part (especially with a few mods) as you can tinker around to your hearts content. Want to dip in and just fill up a quarter of an hour - you can , want to build up your team from just having a few run down mechs to an elite fighting force - you can. Don't expect flashy state of the art graphic or an enthralling storyline with this game (clans is probably better for that ) but if you want a game that is just fun with Stomp Robots - I highly recommend
Played through an 80 hour vanilla unmodded playthrough on GamePass, liked the game so much I bought it on Steam with all of it's DLC during the recent sale. Now 24 hours into a modded coop campaign with a buddy, and 10 hours into an new modded singleplayer career mode with all DLC. Great game, tons of replayability.
The FO76 of Mechwarrior. Worth the 9$ on sale. Would refund at 12$ because there are just too many rookie mistakes, MMORPG mechanics, and it's blatantly not single-player, but a co-op game based on the idea that people who play single player are too shy to complain about the terrible AI, the DLC cashgrabs, the ridiculous lack of unit orders (not even "hold and defend this position", or "RETREAT TO THE EVAC". You can't even tell your injured squadmate to split off and retreat without DIRECT LINE OF SIGHT to where you want them to go. It's a Co-Op game, with some single player stuff. No "What's your status" either. Or "use repair bay". Oh yes, did I mention that the game uses the tutorial message about picking up a salvage crate every time you see one? "When you get close to the objective, move forward into range and pick it up". Not "salvage crate ahead commander", but the kind of garbage you get from... OH WAIT, IT'S A CO-OP GAME so obviously everyone would have turned off the voice line audio. Seriously? "Walk up to the treasure to pick it up." and then "Brilliant!" After the 400th time, it doesn't get tiresome at all! Oh yes, and you can't have multiple lances. A step DOWN from MW4 somehow. That being said, if you have 9$... the core mods required to make this mostly better are kept up to date, don't require the DLCs as far as I can tell (compat. but not required) and don't take long to install. Use the custom mod manager. And don't worry - they added some of these things in later... in DLCs that you can pay for.
Mechassault on the OG XBOX got me into the battletech universe and this game is just a dream come true!
