Thrust into the underbelly of a wickedly grimy vision of a snowed-in New York, running and gunning down every armed schmuck who got in my way, it came to my attention quite quickly that my head and my hands were lacking their mediator. Having previously clocked into Payne's story late and witnessed its end, now finally catching up on the fun I missed, I realized my expectation of how to make it out of this hellhole alive was misguided. I recalled pinpoint accuracy, moments of focus allowing me to line up chains of bullets embedded in skulls like dotting i's and crossing t's. But this wasn't Wick, it was Woo. Mayhem whistled through the air every which way, machine guns rattled off their war cries, I slowed the world around me down not to form some preternatural bond with my firearm, but to have any chance of catching my breath without buckshot slamming through my cranium. I dove through the frenzy of battle, my steady stream of bullets assuring that if one didn't meet it's mark, the next one sure as ♥♥♥♥ would. In the many eyes of the great storm I took in the beauty of Noir York City as I collected myself, then pressed on to the next fight. Nightmares awaited, but so did salvation.

Buy it! Check the community guides for a patch. Super easy to install, simple .exe. Play it before they "remaster" and remove everything cool.
To many issues and and fixes needed the sound is a mess i can deal with no sound on the comics ect but the in game sound is all distorted and even with that the shootdodge is messed up an max just jumps along the floor i capped my fps but that did not fix it this is a really good game but the effort needed to play it is just not worth it the patches and fixes needed should already be done and included in the download
Unless you had some nostalgia with this game, it's some buns. The story is the only thing holding the game together and it's actually pretty uninteresting in today standards. If you're into the rogue cop/bad cop theme with some mafia sprinkled in, you could watch a hundred other shows and movies that do it better. If you're one of the boot-licking, video-game redditors who praise this game for "pioneering bullet time" and have never actually played it, I dare you to beat the game. You will find it uninteresting, and that's okay, but let's stop calling this a masterpiece just because you grew up with it. If you like Max Payne as a character or want an introduction to Max Payne for a more modern audience, I recommend Max Payne 3. Yes, even though Rockstar requires their sh!tty launcher for it, I'd still recommend Max Payne 3 over this.
