Max Payne is a man with nothing to lose in the violent, cold urban night. A fugitive undercover cop framed for murder, hunted by cops and the mob, Max is a man with his back against the wall, fighting a battle he cannot hope to win. Prepare for pain…

Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

i like it when the guy shoots gun really slowly and the bad guys die
I really enjoyed this game. It does require a few tweaks and mods to get the game running properly on modern hardware, but it is truly worth it. In reality it isn't that much work to go and fix the game, just look up a quick guide, and you are left with a game that has aged amazingly well. 8/10

4 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
4 on sale11 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 11 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 4 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Story is pretty good. The combat does not hold up well at all, and the enemies are like navy seals and kill you in three shots when you have full health. So you will be save scrubbing every five seconds in order to keep your sanity.
un playable i keep getting jpeg errors once starting the game i wouldnt recommend buying
Very much ahead of its time in terms of movement, though it's pretty heavily undermined by the fact that half the time the game eats your input. This is especially annoying during the dream sequences where it feels like your character gets stuck in the ground or walls. But if you can get past all the small bugs, then the game is pretty okay--at best. 5.4/10
For years, this game was an absolute nightmare to run on modern hardware, thankfully Max Payne 1 Fix Pack compiles all the patches under one executable file making it seamless and easy to run. It's found under the Guides tab of the Steam page. I highly recommend giving it a try. There's a reason people are still talking about this game all these years later with its noir story, stylish action, and gameplay cemented its place as a true classic that inspired countless games that followed.
Very glitchy at times. Not too hard to fix. Make sure to install the complete fixpack. Very good story with a noir like vibe. Fun.
pretty decent game the parallels to alex casey are crazy

Y funciona.
