Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's really hard to look past the bugs and all the nonsense you have to do to get it to run properly when some over-arching design choices make me question how this series took off the way that it did. As a movie / show? I think this could've been great. As a game? I'll dive into that: -Any setup with over 4GBs of ram will cause the game to crash at random. So essentially, most users on Steam will have to patch this out right out the gate with a 3rd-party program to get this to stay running. -Uncapping the base framerate of 60fps will cause issues with the game. With mouse controls, this makes the entirety of the game look choppier than it actually is. With that in mind, you might ask: Why not just use a controller? I'll tell you: -NO NATIVE CONTROLLER SUPPORT IN AN XBOX 360 TITLE. Rather than patching these issues out, we got a re-release as the Legendary Edition. The original PC ports should not be sold anymore if they have not been actively maintained AND are known to be buggy messes. I gave this port a shot because I wanted to make use of Mass Effect 2 that I got from Origin years ago. -Trying to look past all the bugs and pc-port specific issues, you finally start to get some gameplay. It's an RPG disguised as a cover shooter. Choices you make affect the rest of the game that aren't made clear to you at first. Combat mechanics, regarding aim, not explained thoroughly either. I had to do a LOT of Googling just to figure out the first hour of the game. You have to open up the correct menu just to swap guns in the middle of a gun fight when other games of the time, you press a hotkey and it's there, You have to actively babysit your squad or else they'll get themselves killed. Moving from cover to cover is a chore, you'll constantly get stuck on corners and Shepard can't seem to aim-down-sight unless it's over a cover below his kneecaps. The accuracy of your weapons are dictated, again, by vaguely-explained, if at all, stats; If aiming is inaccurate and snapping to cover only works 1/3 of the time, all you're left with are bots for teammates who constantly die on you. For the first 40 minutes, they kept dying and it was unclear to me that I had the ability to command them. They will lock onto stuff you can't even see on your map yet. The lack of quality is evident, at least in this particular port. Maybe the original xbox 360 port didn't have these issues? Maybe the rest of the Mass Effect series is good? As a newcomer to this series and my experience with the only port I got to play, I can't recommend this

13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

I played this version of ME1 in 2016, and it felt very clunky and dated then. After recently playing through ME1 again, but via the legendary edition version instead, I can't recommend playing through this version at all, even if you already have it sitting around in your library. The story is still as good as it ever was, but the gameplay seriously does not hold up. 16 years have passed, and I think most people are going to seriously struggle to make it through the story without becoming frustrated by the gameplay. Luckily, there's a greatly-overhauled version included in Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and buying LE on sale is probably cheaper than buying ME1 ($16 CDN for LE right now, opposed to $40 for ME1 right now), let alone cheaper than picking up the whole trilogy piecemeal. There's a lot of changes to the game, with the most notable one being a serious graphical overhaul, but the most important change IMO is that the Mako is no longer completely awful to use. The Mako is everyone's least favourite part of ME1: there's a reason there's no Mako in ME2/ME3. It wouldn't really be possible to remove it from the game without a serious overhaul, but they made it pack a serious punch in the LE remaster (the cannon will one-shot basic enemies even on insanity) and give full kill XP. It's not a bad game, but it's been made fully obsolete by the remaster.
El mejor juego que jugue en mi vida que queres que te diga amigo, tiene un códice con mucho texto, personajes entrañables y una mina con un traje presurizado que te podes cojer, es todo lo que necesito
Mass Effect is a top 10er for me. Not the trilogy - specifically this game. None of the follow-ups really captured what this game did (though they are not bad!), and I'm genuinely hungry for more games just like this. This version of the game is a bit marred by weird glitches here and there, the DLCs not being integrated (although they are still able to be installed) and a largely abandoned modding scene, but it's absolutely worth picking up.
one of the G.O.A.T's
A classic that really got me into sci-fi games back in in the day, and will always have a place in my heart. The age on ME1 really shows as far as the graphics go, but the morality system, overall story, and the characters are absolutely worth it every time. A must play for anyone who enjoys RPGs as far as I'm concerned, though the Legendary Edition might be a better way to experience the whole trilogy now =))
30 Minutes in and we got our first crash. Rather poor mechanics but gotta give it some slack as its from 2007, still probably wont return to this
боевка полный отстой уже в 2007 была на фоне великой gears of war!!!
Mass Effect (2007) remains a landmark in sci-fi RPG design, delivering an epic interstellar saga that blends deep narrative choices, memorable characters, and strategic third-person combat into a cohesive whole. As Commander Shepard, you’re thrust into a universe on the brink of extinction, tasked with uniting disparate alien races against the ancient Reaper threat. From the opening mission aboard the SSV Normandy to the climactic assault on Ilos, BioWare crafts a story that feels both vast in its galactic scope and intimate through its personal stakes. Narrative & Characters At its core, Mass Effect shines brightest in its storytelling. Each dialogue choice carries weight—whether you’re defusing a tense standoff between turians and batarians or consoling a squadmate haunted by past mistakes. The loyalty missions for Kaidan, Liara, Wrex, and others deepen these bonds, revealing personal histories that add real emotional resonance to the broader conflict. Villains like Saren and his indoctrinated forces pose a genuinely unsettling threat, and the overarching mystery of the Prothean archives keeps you hooked from one system to the next. Gameplay & Combat The PC version refines BioWare’s “action-RPG” formula: cover-based firefights interspersed with you and your two-person squad deploying biotic powers, tech abilities, and weapon fire in concert. Combat encounters feel tactical—choosing when to throw a singularity to group foes, strip shields with overload, or kick an enemy off a cliff all contribute to dynamic engagements. Character progression is flexible: you can mold Shepard into a soldier, adept, engineer, or hybrid, and customizing weapons, armor, and abilities lets you tailor tactics to your playstyle. While occasional AI pathing quirks pop up, they never derail the satisfaction of a well-executed battle plan. Visuals & Technical Performance Even by today’s standards, the sharp textures, detailed character models, and sweeping planetary vistas hold up well, especially with higher‐resolution mods that the PC community has produced. The UI translates smoothly to mouse and keyboard, providing quick access to inventory, squad commands, and the galaxy map. Load times are minimal on modern hardware, and minor frame-rate dips in busy combat zones rarely mar the experience. Frequent auto-saves and robust customization of graphics settings ensure both stability and visual fidelity. Legacy & Replayability Mass Effect’s branching storylines and Paragon/Renegade morality system encourage multiple playthroughs—different choices unlock new dialogue, alter mission outcomes, and even affect which squadmates survive key moments. The success of the PC edition’s mod scene—from graphical overhauls to fan-made romances—only extends its longevity. Whether you’re chasing every ending variation or simply reveling in the camaraderie of the Normandy crew, Mass Effect stands as a genre-defining adventure whose narrative ambition and gameplay innovations still resonate nearly two decades after its debut.
